Chemical Rain is a Romulan faction mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. A pathogen that targets Suliban DNA is spreading fast, and you negotiate with Starfleet to bring back a cure. It opens at warp 1 and needs warp 53 to complete, moving between Vendor and Denobula Triaxa. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but the mission ends with a Starfleet stealth cruiser at about 1,385,777 strength, and that fight is the real bar. The reward is 3,458,000 Tritanium, 380 3★ Battleship Parts, 500 Romulan Credits and 100,000 Romulan Points, with a Federation reputation cost.

Chemical Rain objectives

There are five objectives and no choice split:

  • Visit the emergency quarantine on Volos. Location: Vendor.
  • Contact the USS Enterprise.
  • Collect a sample of the cure. Location: Denobula Triaxa.
  • Take the cure home to the Suliban. Location: Vendor.
  • Destroy the Starfleet stealth cruiser. Location: Vendor. Enemy strength is roughly 1,385,777.

The mission starts at the quarantine on Volos in the Vendor system. After contacting the USS Enterprise, you travel to Denobula Triaxa to collect a sample of the cure and bring it back to the Suliban in Vendor.

The last step is the only fight. A Starfleet stealth cruiser at about 1,385,777 strength has to be destroyed in Vendor before the mission completes.

Where and what warp

Chemical Rain becomes available at warp 1 and no pickup system is named. Completing it needs warp 53, which covers Vendor and Denobula Triaxa.

The recommended level is 1. A ship that can reach warp 53 and beat a target close to 1.4 million strength is what the mission actually expects.

Chemical Rain and Portcullis compared

Chemical Rain follows Portcullis, where you collect weapons systems from Gorn ships to build a stronger defense against them. The two pay the same faction rewards:

Mission Warp Fights Main rewards
Portcullis 38 to start and complete, picked up in Altanea Three Gorn ships in Carraya, about 902,683 to 937,932 25,000,000 Parsteel, 1,000 Romulan Recruit Token
Chemical Rain 1 to start, 53 to complete Starfleet stealth cruiser in Vendor, about 1,385,777 3,458,000 Tritanium, 380 3★ Battleship Parts

Both also pay 500 Romulan Credits and 100,000 Romulan Points for a loss of 96,000 Federation Points. Portcullis has three fights under a million strength each; Chemical Rain has one harder fight and a longer route.

Tips

Check your faction reputation first. Running Portcullis and Chemical Rain back to back costs 192,000 Federation Points in total.

Save your full health for the end. The first four steps have no fights, so arrive back in Vendor with your ship repaired for the stealth cruiser.

The 380 3★ Battleship Parts are the reward to plan around if you are tiering up a battleship.
