Cast the First Stone is an early mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you step into a dispute that could spark a war in Tellun. It is picked up in Tellun, recommended for level 8, and needs warp 5 to start and finish. The job is simple: defeat five hostiles in Tellun, then return to your station. The reward is 250 Tritanium, one Encryption Key and 120 Officer XP. It is a quick run that fits neatly around other Tellun missions.
Cast the First Stone objectives
Two objectives, no choice split:
- Defeat 5 Hostiles in Tellun. Location: Tellun.
- Return to Station.
The kills have to happen in Tellun itself. Unlike many kill objectives, no level floor is given, so the requirement is simply five hostiles in that system. There is no named boss and no donation. Once the fifth kill lands, head home to complete the mission.
Where and what warp
The mission is picked up in Tellun and both starting and finishing it need warp 5. The recommended level is 8. Because the kills happen in the pickup system, you can accept the mission and start fighting without flying anywhere else.
Cast the First Stone rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Tritanium | 250 |
| Encryption Key | 1 |
| Officer XP | 120 |
The mission does not unlock a follow-up part.
Other missions picked up in Tellun
Tellun hands out several low-level missions, and most of them also pay an Encryption Key. Current game data:
| Mission | Recommended level | What you do | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cast the First Stone | 8 | Defeat 5 hostiles in Tellun | 250 Tritanium, 1 Encryption Key, 120 Officer XP |
| Raiding Parties | 7 | Destroy the Nausicaan Raid Fleet in Tellun (about 669 strength) | 20 Recruit Tokens, 1 Encryption Key, 110 Officer XP |
| On the Run | 7 | Hunt Rorov through Risa, Maluria and Yridia | 5,000 Parsteel, 1 Encryption Key, 270 Officer XP |
| Depriving the Enemy | 8 | Mine 100 Tritanium | 2,400 Parsteel, 1 Encryption Key, 2 Domitia shards |
All four pay an Encryption Key and need warp 5. Cast the First Stone and Raiding Parties both keep you in Tellun, so they pair well. On the Run is the longest of the group, but it pays the most Parsteel and Officer XP.
Tips
Take Cast the First Stone and Raiding Parties together. Both are picked up in Tellun and both want you fighting there, so one session clears two Encryption Keys.
Pick the weakest hostiles in the system. The objective only asks for five kills in Tellun, so there is no reason to take on anything tougher than you need.
Encryption Keys come up again later. The story mission Rosetta Stone asks you to collect three of them, though its objective asks for keys from missions in P’Jem, Rator or Morska, so plan on running missions in those systems for that step.
