Cardassian Military

The Cardassian Military is a Neutral-faction hostile in Star Trek Fleet Command that spawns as an Interceptor from level 19 to 51. You find it across Cardassian space, starting near Bajor and climbing into deeper systems as the levels rise. It drops Dilithium at the lower levels and 4★ Broken Interceptor Parts higher up. Because it is always an Interceptor, the fast answer is to bring an Explorer.

How to beat the Cardassian Military

The Cardassian Military only ever appears as an Interceptor, so you never have to guess which class to bring. In the hull-counter rule, Explorers beat Interceptors, so an Explorer is your ship for every level of this hostile. There is nothing to swap between levels here, since the hull never changes. Match your ship level and warp to the target and you will trade well. An Explorer’s bonus damage against Interceptors also shortens each fight, which keeps your repair costs down as the stats climb at the higher levels.

For crew, the principle matters more than any single name: put a captain that boosts weapon damage against hostiles in the chair, then fill the other seats with officers that add damage or mitigation. At the low end, the evergreen cadet crew works fine while you are still around level 19 to 25: Cadet Kirk as captain with Cadet Spock and Cadet Uhura. As you climb, better options open up, so check the officer tier list for current picks. Crews shift with the meta, so treat any named crew as a starting point rather than a fixed answer.

Where to find the Cardassian Military

This hostile clusters in and around Cardassian space. The lowest levels sit at Bajor on warp 25, and the spread widens through Cardassia, Chin’Toka, Kabrel, and Myyric as you move up. The higher you go, the deeper and farther the systems get, with warp climbing from 25 to 40, then 65, 100, and finally 170 for the level 49 to 51 spawns at Rudellia. If you are farming a specific level, sort or filter for it before you warp out so you are not hunting blind across a dozen systems.

Rewards and what it drops

What the Cardassian Military hands you depends on the level you kill. From level 19 to 39 it drops Dilithium, the currency you spend on research, upgrades, and speedups. From level 40 to 51 it switches to 4★ Broken Interceptor Parts, the salvage you refine into materials for tier-up work on 4-star Interceptors. Ship XP also climbs steeply with level, so higher spawns are worth more per kill toward leveling the ship you fly against them.

Drop What it is
Dilithium (levels 19–39) Core currency for research, ship and building upgrades, and speedups.
4★ Broken Interceptor Parts (levels 40–51) Salvage refined into parts used to tier up 4-star Interceptors.

Cardassian Military stats

Stats climb steeply with level, so the gap between the low and high spawns is large. These anchor rows show the low, mid, and high ends.

Level Total strength Hull HP Shield HP Attack Defense Ship XP
19 16,487 2,750 2,750 7,207 6,530 282
35 538,186 72,000 72,000 241,186 225,000 707
51 16,956,795 8,460,931 8,460,931 6,016,414 2,479,450 2,800

Cardassian Military firing pattern

The Cardassian Military carries two weapon groups. Its Kinetic guns hit hardest but fire every other round, while a single Energy weapon chips away every round. The Kinetic volley is the one to plan repairs and mitigation around, since it lands the biggest burst when it fires.

Weapon type Count Damage per shot Fires Crit
Energy 1 1,058–1,293 Every round 10% (1.5x)
Kinetic 2 2,539–3,103 Every other round 10% (1.5x)

The Cardassians in Star Trek

The Cardassian Union is one of the major powers of the Alpha Quadrant, best known from Deep Space Nine. A militaristic and centralized state, the Cardassians spent decades occupying Bajor, stripping the planet of resources and leaving deep scars that shape much of the series. Their government answers to the Central Command and the Obsidian Order, a feared intelligence service. Cardassian ships favor efficient, disciplined design over flash, and their officers prize order, loyalty, and the state above the individual. Later in the saga the Union falls under Dominion control, a turn that defines the final stretch of the war.

Is the Cardassian Military worth grinding?

It is a solid mid-game farm. The low levels give you steady Dilithium while you build up, and once you pass level 40 the 4★ Broken Interceptor Parts are useful if you are tiering up a 4-star Interceptor. Ship XP scaling makes the higher spawns handy for leveling a ship, too. The practical tip: match your warp to the level you want, bring an Explorer, and you will farm it cleanly.
