Back to the Beginning is a level 76 Romulan mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which Kotoma takes a trip down memory lane. It is picked up in Sozuno and needs warp 4,000 to start and to complete, with the visit itself in Romii and the finish at the Order’s base in Kúshlah. On the way out you choose to distract a guard with 60K Σ-Dilithium or fight the guardship. Both choices pay 4,675,000 7★ Raw Ore, 408,000 7★ Broken Interceptor Parts and 2,600 Σ-Romulan Credits. It is the best-paying level 76 Romulan mission, and short.
Back to the Beginning objectives
Three objectives come before the choice:
- Accompany Kotoma. Location: Romii.
- Investigate the facility. Location: Romii.
- Beam back onboard. Location: Romii.
Once you are back aboard, a guard stands between you and a clean getaway, and you decide how to handle it.
Distract the guard
- Donate 60K Σ-Dilithium to avoid detection.
- Return to the base. Location: Kúshlah.
You eject the Σ-Dilithium as a distraction and slip away without a fight.
Fight the guard
- Defeat the guardship. Location: Romii (enemy strength about 54.4 trillion).
- Return to the base. Location: Kúshlah.
The guardship is engaged directly, and once it is down you head home.
Where and what warp
The pickup system is Sozuno. Warp to start and warp to complete are both 4,000, and the recommended level is 76.
Romii is where the story happens, and Kúshlah is the only other stop. On the fight path, all the combat is in Romii.

Tips
Choose the path by what is cheaper for you. If 60K Σ-Dilithium is easy to spare, distracting the guard skips the only fight. If your ship handles level 76 enemies well, the guardship at about 54 trillion is one of the weaker fights at this level.
The Broken Interceptor Parts help only if you are building an Interceptor. Lu Shiar, the other Kotoma mission at this level, also ends at the Order’s base in Kúshlah.
