Assistance is a Federation resource mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. Starfleet needs a freelancer to help with a rebuilding effort, so you mine 80,000 Tritanium and then donate the same amount. There is no fight. The mission is picked up in Gemet and needs warp 18 to start and to complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 22,000 Dilithium and 22 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas, so it is effectively a trade of Tritanium for Dilithium and refined gas.

Assistance objectives

Two objectives, with no choice split:

  • Mine 80,000 Tritanium.
  • Donate 80,000 Tritanium.

No system is named for the mining step, so any Tritanium node you can reach counts. Once you have mined 80,000, the second step asks you to hand over 80,000 Tritanium as a donation, and the mission completes.

Where and what warp

The pickup system is Gemet, and the game lists warp 18 to start and warp 18 to complete. After the pickup, the mission does not send you anywhere specific, so the mining trips are up to you.

The recommended level is listed as 1. Reaching Gemet and having the cargo and time to mine 80,000 Tritanium are the real requirements.

Assistance rewards

Reward Amount
Dilithium 22,000
3★ Uncommon Refined Gas 22

No follow-up mission is listed as unlocking from Assistance.

Is the trade worth it?

The mission takes 80,000 Tritanium and gives back 22,000 Dilithium plus 22 refined gas. Whether that is a good deal depends on what you are short of. 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas comes from refining rather than straight mining, so a batch of 22 saves refinery work, and Dilithium goes into research and building costs.

If Tritanium is your bottleneck, hold off. If you have Tritanium to spare and a research or upgrade waiting on Dilithium or 3★ gas, this is a fair swap with no combat risk.

Other missions picked up in Gemet

Gemet is the pickup for several missions at this range. Current game data for three of them:

Mission Warp to complete Main task Main reward
Assistance 18 Mine and donate 80,000 Tritanium 22,000 Dilithium, 22 3★ Uncommon Refined Gas
Inversions 30 Defeat Haneva Pran (11,296) in Doska 132,000 Tritanium, 3,100 Federation Points
Caught In The Act 19 Defeat a Federation Agent (101,520) in Vosak 1,342,000 Parsteel or 33,000 Dilithium, by choice

Inversions pays back more Tritanium than Assistance takes, so running both leaves you ahead on Tritanium. Gemet also appears in Open Rebellion, where Starbase 74 is the meeting point with Admiral Briscoe.

Tips

Use your best Tritanium miner. The mining objective is the slow part, and a survey ship with a high cargo hold and Tritanium mining bonuses finishes it in fewer trips.

Mine close to home. The mining step has no location, so the nearest Tritanium node your miner can work is the fastest way through it.

Keep enough Tritanium after the donation. Handing over 80,000 at once can stall an upgrade that was waiting on that stock, so check your queue first.
