What We Are is a level 66 story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command and part of the Cult Eternus storyline. While Toryn compiles the Cult messages you intercepted in The All Seeing Eye, he asks you to help the people of the Frontier who are suffering under the Nameless and the Cult. You complete five Planetary missions of level 60 or higher and donate five Planetary datapads. It needs warp 1 to start and to complete and pays 831,000 Raw Σ-Parsteel and 2,025,000,000 Dilithium, the largest payout in this stretch of the story.

What We Are objectives

There are two objectives and no choice split:

  • Complete 5 Planetary missions of level 60 or higher.
  • Donate 5 Planetary datapads.

Toryn says the intercepted messages are full of useful intelligence but will take time to compile. Meanwhile the Nameless continue their invasion, and the Frontier locals are paying for it. Maia then asks for five Planetary datapads to store the data for later research. Just as you hand them over, Toryn finds something in the messages, and warns that things may get worse before they get better.

Where and what warp

No pickup system is listed, and both the start and the finish are at warp 1. Any travel depends on which Planetary missions you choose. The recommended level is 66.

What We Are rewards

Where What We Are sits in the story

What We Are is the last of three level 66 station missions in a row. The next one sends you into battle.

Mission Recommended level Warp to complete Story Rewards
The All Seeing Eye 66 1 Intercept Cultist communications. 277,000 Raw Σ-Parsteel, 675,000,000 Dilithium
What We Are 66 1 Continue to help the denizens of the Frontier. 831,000 Raw Σ-Parsteel, 2,025,000,000 Dilithium
One Final Line 66 1300 Defend a Federation Starbase. 609,000 Raw Σ-Parsteel, 1,485,000,000 Dilithium, 1 2 Day Σ-Speed Up

Tips

The objective sets the bar at Planetary missions of level 60 or higher, so pick from those when you work through the five.

Have five Planetary datapads ready for the second step. It is the same pair of objectives as The Brink of Madness earlier in the storyline, but the reward here is far larger: over 2 billion Dilithium against none there.

Once you finish, One Final Line needs warp 1300 and has real fights, so this is a good moment to get your combat ship repaired and ready. The Σ-Parsteel is covered in the Σ resources guide, and more missions at this level are on the mission guide.
