Trouble Follows

Trouble Follows is a late story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you help defend Jaylah from further attacks. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 160 to complete. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but warp 160, level 48 hostiles and a Tal Shiar Assassin at roughly 10,802,528 power are the real bar. The reward is 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens, and finishing it unlocks An Open Secret.

Trouble Follows objectives

There are four objectives and no choice split:

  • Find Jaylah. Location: Farnham.
  • Defeat 10 hostiles of Level 48 or higher.
  • Defeat the Tal Shiar Assassin. Location: Farnham. Enemy strength is roughly 10,802,528.
  • Inform Starfleet of the attacks. Location: Avofall.

You find Jaylah in Farnham, clear 10 hostiles of level 48 or above (the count has no fixed system), then return to Farnham for the Tal Shiar Assassin. The mission ends when you report the attacks to Starfleet in Avofall.

Where and what warp

Trouble Follows is available from warp 1 but needs warp 160 to complete. Farnham and Avofall are the named systems.

The listed recommended level of 1 does not match the content. The Tal Shiar Assassin at about 10.8 million power needs one of your strongest ships, and the level 48 hostiles are late-game targets too.

Trouble Follows rewards

Reward Amount
Ultra Recruit Token 800

Completing the mission also unlocks the next one in the storyline, An Open Secret.

Eight hundred Ultra Recruit Tokens is the whole payout. It is a good stack for officer recruitment, though the effort is high for a single reward line.

How it fits the storyline

Trouble Follows belongs to the storyline that begins with Practice Makes Imperfect, which also comes directly before it. An Open Secret follows:

Mission Warp to complete Main fight Main rewards
Trouble Follows 160 Tal Shiar Assassin, about 10,802,528 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens
An Open Secret 160 Romulan guard, about 10,476,166 46,155,000 Tritanium, 6 3 Hour Repair Speed Ups

An Open Secret keeps the same warp and has a slightly weaker fight, so the ship that beats the Tal Shiar Assassin here is ready for it. It also swaps recruit tokens for a large Tritanium reward.

How it compares with Truth Uncovered

Truth Uncovered also needs warp 160, also starts in Farnham and also pays 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens. It has no fights at all, only visits to the three factions. If both are in your log, you can reach Farnham once and start both, and Truth Uncovered is the easier of the two by a wide margin.

Tips

Clear the level 48 hostiles near Farnham. The count has no set location, and the assassin fight is back in Farnham afterwards.

Repair before the assassin. Ten level 48 fights will leave damage, and at 10.8 million power the Tal Shiar Assassin is not a fight to take at half health.

Save the Ultra Recruit Tokens for a larger batch of pulls. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
