The Prince and the Doppelganger is a level 48 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, picked up in Corsen. A prince desperately wants to avoid a dinner party with Starfleet, so you find a lookalike to go in his place. It needs warp 185 to pick up and warp 205 to complete. There is no fight: you pay the lookalike 1.25 million Dilithium, attend the dinner and the afterparty, and report back. The reward is 9,100,000 Dilithium and 105,000 Officer XP, which leaves you well ahead on Dilithium.
The Prince and the Doppelganger objectives
There are five objectives across four systems, and no choice split:
- Find the lookalike. Location: Belmont.
- Pay 1.25M Dilithium for the lookalike’s services.
- Go to the dinner. Location: Neo’Tek.
- Abscond to the afterparty. Location: Genflint.
- Return to the prince. Location: Corsen.
The mission is a tour. You start in Belmont, where the lookalike is found and paid, then go to the dinner in Neo’Tek, slip away to the afterparty in Genflint, and finally return to the prince in Corsen, where the mission began. None of the steps involve combat.
Where and what warp
The Prince and the Doppelganger is picked up in Corsen. It needs warp 185 to start and warp 205 to complete, so you need 20 more warp to finish than to accept it. The route runs Belmont, Neo’Tek, Genflint and back to Corsen. The recommended level is 48.
The Prince and the Doppelganger rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Dilithium | 9,100,000 |
| Officer XP | 105,000 |
Take away the 1.25 million Dilithium you pay the lookalike and the mission still nets 7,850,000 Dilithium, plus the Officer XP. The current game data shows no follow-up mission unlocked by it.
A similar mission: Putting on a Show
Putting on a Show shares a lot with this mission: the same warp 185 to start and warp 205 to complete, a stop in Belmont, and a Dilithium payment in the middle. The payoff is very different:
| Mission | Recommended level | Dilithium paid | Fights | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Prince and the Doppelganger | 48 | 1.25M | None | 9,100,000 Dilithium, 105,000 Officer XP |
| Putting on a Show | 50 | 11M | The conductor’s vessel in Callicoat | 1 5★ Common Battleship Parts, 1 Romulan Immortal Datapad, 800 Romulan Credits, 1,100,000 Romulan Points, -1,980,000 Federation Points |
The Prince and the Doppelganger is the cheaper of the two, has no fight and no faction penalty, and pays back far more Dilithium than it costs.
Tips
Have 1.25 million Dilithium on hand before Belmont. The payment comes straight after you find the lookalike, and the mission cannot move on without it.
Check your range against warp 205, not 185. You can accept the mission at 185, but finishing needs 205.
Any ship with the range will do. There is no combat anywhere in the mission, so you do not need to tie up a combat ship for it.
For every other mission by level, see the mission guide.
