The Pleasure of My Company is a level 43 story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you agree to deliver a message to Starfleet for the Nausicaan Warlord Kato, and it goes badly wrong. It is picked up in Vita Nova, needs warp 80 to start and warp 85 to finish, and has two fights: a Starfleet patrol at roughly 2,726,322 strength and Kato himself at roughly 1,075,836. Both endings pay the same reward, 187,200,000 Parsteel and 25,600,000 Tritanium.
The Pleasure of My Company objectives
The first five objectives are the same for everyone:
- Deliver the message. Location: Almango.
- Defeat the Starfleet patrol. Location: Almango. Enemy strength is roughly 2,726,322.
- Find the Warlord Kato. Location: Vita Nova.
- Track down Kato. Location: Asronal.
- Defeat Kato. Location: Asronal. Enemy strength is roughly 1,075,836.
Kato presents the message as an offer of cooperation. When you hand it over in Almango, a level 43 Federation system, his package turns out to be a bomb, and the Starfleet patrol there turns on you. After fighting your way out, you find Kato has left Vita Nova, a level 43 neutral system, and track him to Asronal, a level 44 neutral system. Beat him, and the mission asks how you want to deal with him.
Federation path
- Return to your Station.
Bring Kato to Starfleet
- Bring Kato to Starfleet. Location: Asronal.
Both paths pay 25,600,000 Tritanium and 187,200,000 Parsteel, so the choice is purely a story decision.
Where and what warp
The pickup system is Vita Nova. You need warp 80 to start and warp 85 to finish, the extra range covering Asronal.
The recommended level is 43, matching Vita Nova and Almango. The Starfleet patrol near 2.7 million strength is the harder of the two fights, and it comes first.
The Pleasure of My Company rewards
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Parsteel | 187,200,000 |
| Tritanium | 25,600,000 |
The rewards are identical on both paths. The mission data does not list a follow-up mission unlocked by this one.
How the two fights compare
The Starfleet patrol in Almango, at about 2,726,322, is more than two and a half times as strong as Kato in Asronal, at about 1,075,836. The order matters: the hard fight comes first, so if your ship can win in Almango, the fight with Kato will be much easier. If the patrol leaves you badly damaged, head home and repair before tracking Kato, since the objectives in between are travel only.
Tips
Go in ready for a fight at the first stop. The delivery sounds peaceful, but the Starfleet patrol is waiting, and it is the strongest enemy in the mission.
Pick the ending you prefer. Nothing in the rewards separates the two choices, so choose the outcome that fits how you play your captain. Other missions sorted by level are on the mission guide.
