The Noose is a Klingon story mission that begins in Khitomer, where Kras asks for help running down a dishonored outlaw named Mokgar. The whole thing plays out inside that one system at warp 17, across two patrols and a single fight. It pays 89,000 Tritanium, 130 Klingon Credits and 2,000 Klingon reputation, and it costs you standing with the Romulans and the Federation.

The Noose objectives

Three objectives, in this order, all of them in Khitomer:

  • Patrol the planet Syl.
  • Patrol the planet Fek’lhr.
  • Defeat Mokgar, an enemy of roughly 30,910 strength.

There is no choice split here, so every player runs the same three steps and walks away with the same payout. The two patrol objectives are movement, not combat: you fly to the planet, the objective ticks over, and you move on. Only the last step puts you in a fight.

Where and what warp

You pick The Noose up in Khitomer and you finish it in Khitomer. Warp 17 gets you there and warp 17 is all you need to see it through, which makes this one of the easier Klingon missions to plan around. There is no second system to reach and no long haul between objectives, so once your ship is parked in Khitomer you can clear all three steps back to back.

If your warp range tops out below 17, the mission is out of reach until you upgrade the warp drive. That is the only real gate on it.

The Noose rewards

Tritanium 89,000
Klingon Credits 130
Klingon reputation +2,000
Romulan reputation -1,600
Federation reputation -600
Cargo Container 1

The Tritanium is the headline. 89,000 is a real deposit at the levels where warp 17 is a stretch, and the 130 Klingon Credits go toward the Klingon faction store. The Cargo Container is a single item drop, so treat it as a bonus rather than the reason to run the mission.

The two negative lines are reputation, not resources. Helping Kras hunt a Klingon outlaw still reads as Klingon work to the other two factions, and they dock you for it: 1,600 off your Romulan standing and 600 off your Federation standing.

Tips

Check the faction math before you accept. A net swing of +2,000 Klingon against -1,600 Romulan and -600 Federation is fine if you are pushing Klingon reputation, and annoying if you are mid-grind on either of the others. If you are working a Romulan or Federation tier, bank what you need there first and come back to this one afterward.

Bring a ship that clears about 30,910 strength with room to spare for the Mokgar fight. That number is the enemy’s rating, not a guaranteed loss threshold, but going in roughly matched is how these fights turn into repair timers. Everything before that fight is travel, so there is no reason to arrive with a damaged hull.

Both patrol targets, Syl and Fek’lhr, sit inside Khitomer along with Mokgar. Set your route once and clear all three without leaving the system. If you are already in Khitomer for other Klingon content, this mission slots in with almost no travel cost.

Make sure your cargo hold has space before you finish. The mission drops 89,000 Tritanium in one hit, and a full hold at the moment of completion is a bad time to find out.
