The Best Offense is a Good Defector is a three-part mission chain that sends you back to Aitora to investigate a suspected Hurak base. You land an Enterprise away team on the Hurak moon, lure the base’s defenders away while the team works, then return to pull everyone out along with a Hurak defector. All three parts are recommended for level 32 and need warp 26 to complete, with most of the action in Dalneah. The chain pays 2,250 Raw Common Transogen, 1,200 Raw Uncommon Transogen, 79,000 Dilithium and 5 SNW Black Ops M’Benga shards. Expect seven ship fights, more than any other level 32 Transogen chain.

Tips for completing The Best Offense is a Good Defector
Enemy strength climbs steadily. Part 1 starts with a Honorguard at about 294,000 and ends with a fight near 432,000, Part 2 has two pursuers at about 415,000, and the Battle Cruiser at the end of Part 3 is the peak at about 527,000. Repair before that last fight, since it comes straight after another 415,000 fight and two evasive steps in the same system.
There are no resource donations or mining steps, so the only preparation is your ship and your repair queue. Every part stays within warp 26.
The same Dalneah moon shows up in A Vulcan, a Klingon, and a Scotsman, which also pays SNW Black Ops M’Benga shards. Between the two chains you get 9 of those shards.
Are The Best Offense is a Good Defector rewards worth it?
For SNW Black Ops M’Benga collectors, yes: 5 shards is the larger of the two M’Benga payouts at this level. The 79,000 Dilithium from Part 2 is a useful extra, and the Transogen adds up to 2,250 Raw Common and 1,200 Raw Uncommon. The price is seven fights, the toughest at about 527,000 strength. The story features Uhura in Part 1 and Chapel in Part 3. See the Transogen faction guide for the resource and the STFC mission guide for more chains.
