Splinters is a level 46 Klingon story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you help a small Klingon splinter group with their research. You pick it up in Lu’Kash, it needs warp 120 to start and to complete, and there is no fight. The main cost is a 975,000 Tritanium donation for a mining laser. Splinters objectives

- Pick up the requested equipment. Location: Dohrmas.
- Meet with the miner. Location: Hannlaw.
- Donate 975,000 Tritanium for the mining laser.
- Return to the KSG headquarters. Location: Lu’Kash.
You collect equipment in Dohrmas, meet a miner in Hannlaw, pay for the mining laser, and return to the KSG headquarters in Lu’Kash. No hostile is listed at any step.

What the reputation swing means
You gain 538,000 Klingon Points and lose 890,000 Romulan Points and 200,000 Federation Points. The total loss is larger than the gain, so the mission makes sense mainly for players firmly with the Klingons.

Tips
Have 975,000 Tritanium ready before Hannlaw. The donation comes right after meeting the miner, and the return to Lu’Kash only opens once it is paid.
Send any ship with warp 120. There are no fights, so a survey ship or spare hull can run it while your combat ship stays free.
The 50 4★ Rare Refined Crystal is the only resource reward, so most of the value sits in the Klingon Credits and Points.
Lu’Kash is also the pickup system for They Will Not Hold Us, a level 48 mission at the same warp 120, and the KSG turn up again in Treacherous Intent, picked up in Erzon’Uk.
