Shifting Priorities

Shifting Priorities is a level 12 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you take over an Independent mining operation in the name of the Syndicate. It has two small fights, one in Elona and one in Zaurak, and ends with a report to Jakkon in Orion. Warp 11 is enough to finish it. The rewards are 20 Recruit Tokens and three one-hour speed ups, and completing it unlocks Making Amends. It belongs to the Discovery arc.

Shifting Priorities objectives

Five objectives, three systems, no choice split:

  • Go to the Independent mining area in Elona. Location: Elona.
  • Defeat the Security Guard. Location: Elona (enemy strength about 2,935).
  • Go to the next mining area. Location: Zaurak.
  • Defeat the Private Militia. Location: Zaurak (enemy strength about 2,905).
  • Report back to Jakkon. Location: Orion.

The mission is two raids and a report. Each mining area has one defender: a Security Guard in Elona and a Private Militia in Zaurak. The two fights are almost the same strength, around 2,900 each, so if you clear the first one you are ready for the second. Jakkon waits in Orion at the end, and that step is a report with no enemy.

Where and what warp

There is no pickup system; the mission starts at warp 1 after the previous step in the storyline. Warp 11 covers every stop, which is a small range for a level 12 player.

The recommended level is 12, which matches the two fights. A ship that is on level for this part of the game should not have trouble with either defender.

Shifting Priorities rewards

Reward Amount
Recruit Token 20
1 Hour Speed Up 3

Completing it also unlocks Making Amends, the next mission in this storyline.

Shifting Priorities and the missions around it

Mission Recommended level Warp to complete Story
Excuses, Excuses 12 10 Explain your actions to the Orion Syndicate
Shifting Priorities 12 11 Take over a mining operation for the Syndicate
Making Amends 13 12 Choose between helping the Andorians or the Vulcans

The level and warp creep up by one step at a time through this stretch, so running the three back to back is realistic. Making Amends is where the story branches, while Shifting Priorities is a single fixed path.

Tips

Repair after the Elona fight. The Private Militia is almost as strong as the Security Guard, so a damaged ship can lose a fight it should win.

Use the speed ups on building upgrades or research. Three hours of speed ups go furthest on the shorter timers of this stage.

The Recruit Tokens are the larger part of the payout, so this is a mission to run when you want more officer pulls. The mission guide lists the other level 12 and 13 missions.
