Raiders is a level 7 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, picked up in the Maluria system. Raiding parties are troubling the Malurians, so you beat one hostile ship, destroy a Nausicaan Raider, and head home for repairs. It needs warp 5 to start and to complete, and everything happens in Maluria. The reward is 3,000 Parsteel, 200 Officer XP and an Encryption Key, which can go straight to the Codes mission.

Raiders objectives

Three objectives with no choice split:

  • Defeat a hostile ship in Maluria. Location: Maluria.
  • Destroy the Nausicaan Raider. Location: Maluria. Enemy strength is roughly 669.
  • Return to the Station for repairs.

The first objective is open: any hostile ship in Maluria counts, so pick whichever one is closest when you arrive. The Nausicaan Raider is the scripted target, and at about 669 strength it is a small fight. After that, the mission sends you home to repair, which is also where it ends.

Where and what warp

Raiders is picked up in Maluria, and the game lists warp 5 to start and warp 5 to complete. Maluria is the only system involved, so the range never goes past what you need to reach the pickup.

The recommended level is 7. Both fights are light for a player at that level.

Raiders rewards

Reward Amount
Parsteel 3,000
Encryption Key 1
Officer XP 200

No follow-up mission is listed as unlocking from Raiders.

Using the Encryption Key

The level 6 mission Codes asks for one Encryption Key from a Risa, Tellun, Yridia or Maluria mission, which you then hand over to Toryn for 1,500 Parsteel and 20 Recruit Tokens. Raiders is a Maluria mission that pays exactly that key.

Several early missions in those systems pay a key. Current game data for a selection:

Mission Pickup Level Fight Other rewards
Raiders Maluria 7 Nausicaan Raider, about 669 3,000 Parsteel, 200 Officer XP
Masked Maluria 7 None; bribe a Yridian with 600 Parsteel 3,300 Parsteel
The Tritanium Mine Risa 7 None; mine 100 Tritanium 2,500 Parsteel
Raiding Parties Tellun 7 Nausicaan Raid Fleet, about 669 20 Recruit Tokens, 110 Officer XP
Leech Yridia 8 Database thief, about 971 500 Tritanium, 220 Officer XP

Raiders and Raiding Parties are near twins: both have one Nausicaan fight of about 669 strength and end with a trip home. Raiders pays more, with 3,000 Parsteel against 20 Recruit Tokens.

Maluria is also where Crashlander sends you to follow a distress signal, so the route may already be familiar.

Tips

Clear both fights in one visit. The open hostile objective and the Nausicaan Raider are both in Maluria, so there is no reason to leave the system between them.

Pair it with Masked. Both missions are picked up in Maluria, and doing them together saves a trip.

Use the repair stop. The last step brings you to your station for repairs anyway, so it is a good time to line up your next mission. More early missions by level are on the mission guide.
