Masked is an early mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you help the Malurians cover up a deception by spreading false information on the Yridian market. It is picked up in Maluria, recommended for level 7, and needs warp 5 to start and finish. You deliver Malurian data to Yridia, pay a 600 Parsteel bribe and head home. The reward is 3,300 Parsteel and an Encryption Key, a net gain of 2,700 Parsteel after the bribe. There is no fight at all.

Masked objectives

Three objectives, no choice split:

  • Take the Malurian data to Yridia. Location: Yridia.
  • Bribe the Yridian with 600 Parsteel.
  • Return to the Station.

You carry the data from Maluria to Yridia, pay the Yridian 600 Parsteel to push the false story, then return to your station. No hostile appears, so any ship that can make the trip will do.

Where and what warp

Masked is picked up in Maluria, and both starting and completing it need warp 5. The recommended level is 7. The only real requirements are warp 5 range and 600 Parsteel on hand.

Masked rewards

Reward Amount
Parsteel 3,300
Encryption Key 1

The mission does not unlock a follow-up part.

Other early missions in Maluria and Yridia

Both systems offer several short missions around level 7 and 8, and nearly all of them pay an Encryption Key. Current game data:

Mission Pickup Level What you do Rewards
Masked Maluria 7 Deliver data to Yridia, bribe with 600 Parsteel 3,300 Parsteel, 1 Encryption Key
Raiders Maluria 7 Defeat a hostile and a Nausicaan Raider (about 669) 3,000 Parsteel, 1 Encryption Key, 200 Officer XP
Malurian Tritanium Maluria 8 Mine 100 Tritanium 2,400 Parsteel, 1 Encryption Key, 2 K’Bisch shards
Propaganda Dealer Yridia 7 Defeat 5 hostiles in Yridia 260 Tritanium, 1 Encryption Key
Leech Yridia 8 Defeat a database thief (about 971), deliver a hacker to Solusta 500 Tritanium, 1 Encryption Key, 220 Officer XP

Masked pays the most Parsteel of this group and is the only one with no combat or mining. Raiders is the closest match on Parsteel and adds Officer XP, but it needs two small fights.

Tips

Run Masked with the other Maluria missions. Raiders and Malurian Tritanium are picked up in the same system, and the three together hand out three Encryption Keys.

Use a non-combat ship if you like. There is no hostile anywhere in the mission, so a miner or survey ship with warp 5 range can take the trip while your fighter works on something else.

Keep the 600 Parsteel ready before you reach Yridia so the bribe step clears straight away. For more low-level Encryption Key missions, see Cast the First Stone in Tellun, or browse the mission guide.
