Rabid Dogs is a level 10 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you gather combat data on the local hostile groups for a Corvallen spy. The only objective is to defeat 3 hostiles of level 9 or higher. It can be picked up in nine systems, needs warp 8, and pays 20 Recruit Tokens. With just three fights, it is a quick one.
Rabid Dogs objectives
One objective, no choice split:
- Defeat 3 Hostiles of Level 9 or higher.
No system is named for the fights and no specific enemy is listed. Any hostile of level 9 or above counts, wherever you find it.
Where and what warp
Rabid Dogs is offered in nine pickup systems: Nilkino, Collep, Weh, Donfo, Zamam, Imgra, Honsao, Friefra and Fostaa. It needs warp 8 to start and to finish, so take it from whichever of those is closest.
The recommended level is 10, one above the minimum hostile level, so a ship that is on level should handle level 9 targets without trouble.
Rabid Dogs rewards
The reward is 20 Recruit Tokens. Rabid Dogs does not unlock another mission.
Rabid Dogs and Fleeing the Nest
The same nine systems offer one other mission at the same level and warp:
| Mission | Level | Warp | Story | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rabid Dogs | 10 | 8 | Gather combat data on local hostiles for a Corvallen spy | 20 Recruit Token |
| Fleeing the Nest | 10 | 8 | Help the stranded Romulan | 3 K’Bisch shards, 500 Officer XP, 60 Tritanium |
Fleeing the Nest pays officer shards as well as XP and Tritanium, and both can be picked up on the same visit.
How it compares with other kill-count missions
Rabid Dogs asks for fewer kills than the other standalone hunt missions nearby. Savage Lands asks for 15 hostiles of level 11 or higher for 5,000 Parsteel, and Regiment asks for 8 Takret ships of level 10 or higher for a single Survey part.
Tips
Pick hostiles right at level 9. The objective counts them the same as higher-level targets, and they are the quickest to beat.
You rarely need to repair mid-mission. Three fights against level 9 hostiles are light work for an on-level ship, so a single outing from any of the nine pickup systems should be enough to finish it.
Take it alongside Fleeing the Nest, since both share the same pickup systems and warp. The mission guide lists every mission by level.
