Patterns of Behavior

Patterns of Behavior is a Borg-space story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. You traverse Borg space from Rek’Sgar into the Beta Sector, clear eight level 50 hostiles, and take on a Borg Scout at roughly 15.8 million strength. The game lists a recommended level of 50. It unlocks at warp 1 but needs warp 185 to complete. The reward is 5,000 Latinum and 530.4 million Parsteel, which makes it worth the trip for the Latinum alone if your ship can beat the Borg Scout.

Patterns of Behavior objectives

There are four objectives and no choice split:

  • Investigate Borg space. Location: Rek’Sgar.
  • Move deeper into Borg space. Location: Beta Sector.
  • Defeat 8 hostiles of level 50 or higher.
  • Defeat the Borg Scout. Location: Beta Sector. Enemy strength is roughly 15,761,293.

The first two steps take you into Borg space, first at Rek’Sgar and then deeper into the Beta Sector. The eight hostile kills have no system attached, so any level 50 or higher hostile counts. The Borg Scout in the Beta Sector is the final objective, and the mission ends there.

Where and what warp

No pickup system is listed. The mission appears from warp 1, but completing it needs warp 185 for the trip into the Beta Sector.

The recommended level is 50, which matches the level 50 hostile requirement. The Borg Scout is the real test, at nearly 16 million strength.

Patterns of Behavior rewards

Reward Amount
Latinum 5,000
Parsteel 530,400,000

Completing it unlocks the next mission, And All the Stars Alight.

How it compares with other warp 185 missions

Several missions send you to Rek’Sgar or the Beta Sector at warp 185. Current game data for them:

Mission Recommended level Main fight Rewards
Overgrowth 48 ~9,550,149 143,200,000 Parsteel, 240 4★ Common Interceptor or Battleship Parts, 20 Recruit Token
Plantsitting 48 ~9,527,375 113,400,000 Tritanium, 751,800,000 Parsteel
Last Chance Saloon 49 ~10,476,166 106,667,000 Parsteel, 160 4★ Common Explorer Parts, 40,000 Officer XP
Patterns of Behavior 50 Borg Scout (~15,761,293) 5,000 Latinum, 530,400,000 Parsteel
What They Cannot Hold 53 Two fights (~22.2 to ~23.0 million) 4,590,000,000 Parsteel, 9,000,000 Dilithium, 1 Data shard

Patterns of Behavior is the only one of these that pays Latinum. Its fight is a clear step up from the level 48 and 49 missions, which top out around 10.5 million, but still well below What They Cannot Hold.

Tips

Do the eight hostiles on the way. Any level 50 or higher hostile counts, so clearing them between Rek’Sgar and the Beta Sector saves a return trip.

Repair before the Borg Scout. At around 15.8 million strength it is the single hardest step, and it is the last thing standing between you and the reward.

Plan the Latinum. 5,000 in one go is a large amount, and there is no Latinum on the other warp 185 missions listed above.
