Learned Fears is a level 68 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you help a man named Kynon rescue his sister from the Breen. It is picked up in Nisa at warp 1,500 and needs warp 1,550 to complete, because the rescue itself happens in Wigg. There are two combat steps, a single Breen ship and then 12 hostiles, and no choice split. The reward is 168,000 6★ Raw Ore, a 4 Hr Peace Shield and 143,000 Latinum.
Learned Fears objectives
The Breen have been pushing into Kynon’s territory and have just taken the research outpost where his sister Irelyn worked. He knows that Breen captives are screened at a station in Netania-6 before being sent to the dilithium mines on Somia, and he will pay whatever it takes to reach her first. The objectives are:
- Gather recon on Breen activity in Netania-6.
- Defeat the Breen hostile in Netania-6 (enemy strength ~11,328,649,016).
- Enter Breen territory in Wigg.
- Defeat 12 hostiles of level 68 or higher.
- Retrieve the captive in Wigg.
- Escort the captive back to Nabreon, in Nisa.
At the processing station Kynon tries to lock onto Irelyn’s communicator while a Breen vessel scans you, and you have to deal with it. He cannot find her signal, so she must already be headed for Somia. Maia warns that the Breen base in Wigg will know you are coming. The Breen fleet forms up to defend Somia, and you hold it off until Kynon finally gets a lock.
The rescue does not go as planned. Irelyn does not recognise her brother and threatens to kill him before collapsing. Back in Nabreon, Kynon explains that the Breen work their way into a captive’s mind and turn it against everything they loved. He believes she will recover, and warns that the Breen may now have a target on your head.
Where and what warp
The pickup is Nisa, where Nabreon is, at warp 1,500. The first fight is in Netania-6, and the second half of the mission moves into Breen territory in Wigg, which is why completion needs warp 1,550. The recommended level is 68.

Learned Fears is the only one of the three that pays in 6★ Raw Ore, while the other two add close to a million Raw Σ-Tritanium each.
Tips
The first Breen ship is listed at about 11.3 billion strength. The 12 kills that follow have no listed strength, and the story sets them against an alerted Breen fleet guarding Somia, so treat Wigg as the harder half. Repair after Netania-6 before you jump.
Run the other two missions alongside this one. Fighting Over Scraps starts in Nisa like Learned Fears, and With My Own Eyes starts in Netania-6, which you visit anyway for the recon step.
