Hidden Gems is a mining mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with a single objective: mine 6★ Raw Crystal. The game lists it at two recommended levels. The level 1 listing asks for 100 6★ Raw Crystal and pays 3,000 Culver Particle and 216,000 Raw Σ-Parsteel. The level 62 story version asks for 2,000 and pays a Shield of Pericles with the same Σ-Parsteel, then unlocks Come Hither. Both need only warp 1, so the real bar is being able to mine 6★ Crystal at all.
Hidden Gems objectives
The lowest listing, at recommended level 1, has one objective and no choice split:
- Mine 100 6* Raw Crystal.
No system is attached, so any 6★ Raw Crystal you mine counts. The story line is the same for both listings: find a way to stop the Brood.
That story comes through in the level 62 version. Howards has been thinking about the mist the Actian Brood uses and decides it must be a hallucinogenic and paralytic agent that works like any other hallucinogen, by stimulating serotonin receptors in the brain. He remembers that the new materials found in the Frontier give off a potent neural stimulant and wants to test whether that can counter the mist. All he needs is Raw Crystal. Once you deliver it, he sets about refining it into something usable.
Where and what warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. The mission happens wherever you choose to mine.
The game shows a recommended level of 1 for the smaller listing, but 6★ Raw Crystal is an end-game resource, so a ship and station able to mine it are the real requirement. The story version is listed at level 62.

Hidden Gems at other levels
The second listing is the one in the level 62 Frontier storyline. It asks for twenty times as much Crystal, swaps the Culver Particle for a Shield of Pericles, and is the version that moves the story on to Come Hither.

Hidden Gems in the story
The level 62 version comes after The Recesses of the Mind and before Come Hither, where you set out to capture an Actian Chrysalid. It follows The Brood, the mission in which Howards works out that the swarm is heading for Earth, and both belong to the story that opens with The Frontier.

Tips
Keep a 6★ Crystal miner working before you pick this up. Two thousand units is a real haul, and the mission only counts Crystal mined after it is active.
Come Hither needs warp 1,000, a big jump from this warp 1 step, so check your range before you finish Hidden Gems.
