Ground Water is a level 77 Klingon mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you work with House Sov to make a desert planet habitable. It is picked up in Xalnesh and needs warp 4,500 to start and to complete, finishing with a transport run to Uyama. It costs 200K Σ-Tritanium to set up a terraforming station and has one fight, protecting the House Sov team from an enemy of about 128 trillion strength. The reward is 383,000 Σ-Tritanium, 440,000 7★ Broken Survey Parts and 2,200 Σ-Klingon Credits. You end up with more Σ-Tritanium than you spent.
Ground Water objectives
There are five objectives and no choice split:
- Set up a terraforming station with 200K Σ-Tritanium.
- Reach a safe distance from the planet. Location: Xalnesh.
- Protect the House Sov team. Location: Xalnesh (enemy strength about 128.0 trillion).
- Begin the ground water cycle. Location: Xalnesh.
- Transport the research team back to Uyama. Location: Uyama.
The payment comes first, before anything else happens. With the terraforming station in place you pull back to a safe distance, fight off the attack on the House Sov team, and then start the ground water cycle. The last step takes the research team home to Uyama.
Where and what warp
The pickup system is Xalnesh, where all but the last objective take place. Warp to start and warp to complete are both 4,500, and the recommended level is 77.

Ground Water pays the most Σ-Klingon Credits of the three and is the only one that returns Σ-Tritanium.
Tips
Bring 200K Σ-Tritanium. It is the very first objective, so the mission does not start moving until it is paid.
The Broken Survey Parts suit players working on a Survey ship. If that is not you, Skimming Stones is the better Klingon mission at this level for raw material.
Found Lacking also ends in Uyama, with a report to House Sov, so the two missions can close out on the same trip. Uyama is a stop in the Margins chain as well.
