Greater Good is a ten-part Voyager chain about an anomaly in the Delta Quadrant, a Borg Queen who wants it, and the uneasy alliance you build between the Coalition and the Insurgence to stop her. Every part is recommended for level 34, and warp to complete is 28 for all parts except Part 3, which needs warp 42. A choice in Part 3 sends you down a Coalition or an Insurgence route for Parts 4 and 5 before the story joins back up. The officer rewards are Harry Kim shards in Part 8 and Seven of Nine shards in Part 10. Budget for several large donations along the way.

Tips for completing Greater Good

Warp stays at 28 for almost the whole chain. The one jump is Part 3, which needs warp 42 for the trip into fluidic space at FSEP-40840, so check your range before you start it.

This chain is expensive. The donations add up to 450,000 Dilithium in Part 2, 15 million Parsteel in Part 6 and 2.5 million Tritanium in Part 8 on every route. The Insurgence route adds another 15 million Parsteel in Part 4, and the Coalition route adds 2.5 million Tritanium in Part 5.

The ship fights are the heaviest among the level 34 chains here, between about 741,000 and 771,000 enemy strength. The Borg Queen in Part 2 and the Hirogen attack on Beyrah in Part 6 are the top of that range. Parts 2, 3, 6, 9 and 10 also ask for hostile kills: 10 in Parts 2 and 6, and 15 across two rounds in Part 9.

Part 10 asks you to defeat a Borg Unicomplex Rare Formation Armada, a different kind of objective from the rest of the chain, and Part 9 pays 200 Formation Armada Directive (Rare) right before it. The formation armadas page covers how these fights work.

If you want to avoid the extra Parsteel bill, the Coalition route is the cheaper choice in Part 3. It costs 2.5 million Tritanium in Part 5 instead of 15 million Parsteel in Part 4.

Are the Greater Good rewards worth it?

The rewards are strong for players who want Voyager officers and XP. Harry Kim and Seven of Nine shards, 195,000 Officer XP in Part 2 plus another 195,000 in Part 4 on either route, and almost 6 million Tritanium plus 1.5 million Dilithium on the shared parts make up the payout, with Battle Pass and Officer Flash Pass items in Part 10. Against that, every route costs 15 million Parsteel, 2.5 million Tritanium and 450,000 Dilithium in shared donations, plus the route-specific cost, and seven heavy fights. Run it when your resources can absorb that. For more chains, see the STFC mission guide.
