Gathering Data is a level 52 KSG collection mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. You collect 3 KSG Datapads by completing missions in KSG space, then donate them. It needs warp 1 to start and finish because the mission itself has no system to visit. The reward is 900 3 Hour Speed Ups and 33,750,000 Dilithium, and completing it unlocks I Am Lesion. How quickly it clears depends on how fast you can run the side missions that pay datapads.
Gathering Data objectives
Two objectives, no choice split:
- Collect 3 KSG Datapads.
- Donate 3 KSG Datapads.
Neither step names a location. The datapads come from KSG side missions, and the mission closes as soon as you hand three of them over. Donating hands the datapads to the KSG, so the three are used up here, the same way the five in Let Me In were.
Where and what warp
Warp 1 to start and to complete. Gathering Data appears after Unstable Cargo with no pickup system.
The recommended level is 52. What you really need is access to KSG side missions, most of which ask for warp 185 to 285.

The pickups cluster in a handful of systems: tIn jIb and tlhuHwI’ for the level 50 missions, and Zameda for two of the level 53 ones.

Tips
The 900 3 Hour Speed Ups are the largest speed up payout in the KSG chain up to this point, more than three times what Thesis paid. They are worth saving for long research or building timers.
Pair datapad missions by pickup system. Family Matters and Buyer Beware both start in tIn jIb, and New Life I and Missing Inventory I both start in tlhuHwI’, so two trips can cover most of what you need.
Compared with Let Me In, which wanted five datapads, this one only needs three and pays the same 33,750,000 Dilithium. More missions by level are on the mission guide.
