Echoes of the Mind

Echoes of the Mind is the first level 53 mission in the KSG storyline in Star Trek Fleet Command. You investigate signals from a derelict ship, then fight a pirate at a lab in Zameda. It starts at warp 1 after I Am Lesion and needs warp 255 to complete. The reward is 230 3 Hour Speed Ups and 48,600,000 Tritanium, and completing it unlocks Lazarus Rising. It is short, with one fight that is a step up from anything earlier in the chain.

Echoes of the Mind objectives

There are three objectives and no choice split:

  • Investigate the signal. Location: ghuH.
  • Get to the lab. Location: Zameda.
  • Defeat the pirate. Location: Zameda. Enemy strength around 17,249,879.

The signal comes from a derelict ship near ghuH, and following it leads you to a lab in Zameda. The pirate is waiting there, and beating it ends the mission. The lab becomes the focus of the next mission, Lazarus Rising, which is about defending Project Qui’Tu.

Where and what warp

No pickup system is listed. Echoes of the Mind appears at warp 1 once I Am Lesion is complete, and warp 255 is needed to finish it. That is the first time the KSG chain asks for 255, and every level 53 mission after this one except Intellectual Property Theft needs it too.

The recommended level is 53. The pirate at an enemy strength around 17.2 million is the check, and it is stronger than the raiders in Behind Us or the spy in Unstable Cargo.

Echoes of the Mind rewards

Reward Amount
3 Hour Speed Up 230
Tritanium 48,600,000
Klingon Credits 800
Klingon Points 1,400,000
Romulan Points -2,671,200

Klingon Points rise to 1,400,000 at level 53, and the Romulan Points loss grows with them; the faction reputation page covers that trade. Completing this mission unlocks Lazarus Rising.

The level 53 KSG missions

Mission Warp to complete Toughest fight Headline reward
Echoes of the Mind 255 Pirate, around 17.2 million 230 3 Hour Speed Ups, 48,600,000 Tritanium
Lazarus Rising 255 Pirate, around 17.6 million 41,250,000 Dilithium plus a path reward
Brain and Brawn 255 Lazna, around 19.6 million 1 Day Peace Shield, 9,180,000,000 Parsteel
Intellectual Property Theft 185 X’Zar’s vessel 93,150,000 Tritanium plus a path reward
Black Market Blues 255 None 170 15 Minute Repair Speed Ups

Enemy strength climbs over the first three, so Echoes of the Mind is a good measure of whether your ship is ready for the run.

Tips

Go in repaired. There is one fight and nothing to do after it, so there is no reason to hold back, but losing it means another trip to Zameda.

If the pirate beats you, Lazarus Rising and Brain and Brawn will too. Upgrading before pushing on saves wasted trips.

Use the 230 3 Hour Speed Ups on repairs or research between missions. More missions by level are on the mission guide.
