Divided Attention

Divided Attention is an early Federation story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. It is listed at recommended level 1, opens at warp 1 and needs warp 15 to complete. Your job is to distract the Corvallen long enough for the Enterprise to gather intelligence: defeat 8 hostiles in V’varia, then choose between freeing prisoners and destroying a weapons cache. Both paths end with a Suliban Guard fight at about 17,801 and pay 2 Latinum and 60 Federation Points. Finishing it unlocks Missing in Action.

Divided Attention objectives

The shared part of the mission has two steps:

  • Defeat 8 Hostiles in V’varia. Location: V’varia.
  • Free the prisoners or destroy the weapons cache.

From there the mission splits into two paths with different systems and a small difference in rewards.

Path 1: Eisenhorn and the prisoners

  • Go to the Eisenhorn system. Location: Eisenhorn.
  • Defeat the Suliban Guard. Location: Eisenhorn. Enemy strength is roughly 17,801.
  • Return the prisoners to your station.

Rewards for Path 1: 2 Latinum, 60 Federation Points, 30 Federation Credits, -39 Klingon Points, -9 Romulan Points.

Path 2: Wezen and the rendezvous

  • Go to the Wezen system. Location: Wezen.
  • Defeat the Suliban Guard. Location: Wezen. Enemy strength is roughly 17,801.
  • Rendezvous with the Enterprise in Sorenle. Location: Sorenle.

Rewards for Path 2: 2 Latinum, 60 Federation Points, -39 Klingon Points, -9 Romulan Points.

Path 1 is the one that ends with prisoners returned to your station, so it matches the free-the-prisoners option. Path 2 ends with a meeting with the Enterprise instead.

Where and what warp

Divided Attention has no pickup system in the data. It opens at warp 1 and needs warp 15 to complete. The shared step is in V’varia; after that, Path 1 goes to Eisenhorn and then home, while Path 2 goes to Wezen and then Sorenle.

The recommended level is listed as 1. The 8 hostile kills and a Suliban Guard at about 17,801 are the real requirement.

Divided Attention rewards

Reward Path 1 Path 2
Latinum 2 2
Federation Points 60 60
Federation Credits 30 0
Klingon Points -39 -39
Romulan Points -9 -9

Completing either path unlocks Missing in Action. The mission before it is Corbomite Maneuver.

Which path to choose

The Suliban Guard is the same strength on both paths, and the Latinum and faction changes match. The only difference is that Path 1 adds 30 Federation Credits. If you are saving Federation Credits, pick Path 1.

Path 1 also ends at your station, which suits you if your ship needs repairs after the fights. Path 2 leaves your ship in Sorenle.

Tips

Clear the 8 hostiles in V’varia first. That step comes before the choice, and the Suliban Guard fight only opens after you have picked a path.

Bring a combat ship. The mission has nine fights in total on either path, eight hostiles in V’varia and one Suliban Guard, so a mining ship is the wrong pick.

The faction penalties are small, -39 Klingon and -9 Romulan Points on either path, against a gain of 60 Federation Points. See faction reputation for more, and the mission guide for every mission by level.
