Defiance is a Klingon faction mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. You step into a stand-off between the Empire and one of its own Generals over how the Kriosian people should be treated. It is picked up in Kronos, needs warp 38 to start and complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. After meeting General Gorath on Praxis you argue for clemency or execution, and each side ends in a different fight, at about 1.43 million or 2.44 million strength. Clemency pays 1,600 Ultra Recruit Tokens; execution pays 5 Gorkon shards.
Defiance objectives
The mission opens with one shared step, then splits at a choice:
- Treatise with General Gorath on Praxis. Location: Kronos.
- Argue for execution or clemency?
Path 1: clemency
You promise to intervene to save the Kriosians.
- Ask the High Council for leniency for the Kriosians. Location: Kronos.
- Eliminate the renegade General Gorath. Location: Kronos. Enemy strength is roughly 1,426,536.
Path 2: execution
You try to convince Gorath to execute the Kriosian rebels.
- Defeat the Kriosian Rebel. Location: Mempa. Enemy strength is roughly 2,444,336.
- Inform the High Council that the Kriosians have been dealt with. Location: Kronos.
The clemency path keeps you in Kronos and ends in a fight with Gorath himself. The execution path sends you to Mempa for a much harder fight, around a million strength tougher, before you report back to the High Council.
Where and what warp
Defiance is picked up in Kronos, and both the start and the finish need warp 38. The execution path adds a trip to Mempa.
The recommended level is 1. The fights set the real requirement: about 1,426,536 strength on the clemency path, or about 2,444,336 on the execution path.

The faction lines are the same on both paths, so your choice only changes the fight and the headline reward. Defiance is a standalone mission and does not unlock a follow-up.

Both pay 100,000 Klingon Points and cost Romulan standing. Defiance’s clemency path has the same fight strength as The Kriosians but pays more Ultra Recruit Tokens and Klingon Credits.
Tips
Check your faction reputation before choosing. Either path costs 137,600 Romulan Points and 51,600 Federation Points.
Choose clemency unless you want Gorkon specifically. It is the easier fight by about a million strength, stays inside Kronos, and pays 1,600 Ultra Recruit Tokens.
Choose execution if Gorkon shards are the goal and your ship can handle a target near 2.44 million strength.
