Double-edged Sword is a Romulan story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you stop an assassination attempt on the First Consul. You save the First Consul in Draomn and defeat a Suliban Assassin, then choose between defending the First Consul or going after the Suliban. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 100 to complete. Both choices pay 600 Romulanisch Credits and 374,000 Romulan Points. Defending pays Ultra Recruit Tokens and 8 Hour Speed Ups, while attacking pays 1M Parsteel Tokens and repair speed ups. Either way it unlocks The Weak.
Double-edged Sword objectives
The first three objectives are shared:
- Save the First Consul. Location: Draomn.
- Defeat the Suliban Assassin. Location: Draomn. Enemy strength is roughly 1,075,836.
- Decide whether to defend the First Consul or intercept the Suliban.
If you defend the First Consul
- Defeat 10 Hostiles of Level 44 or higher.
- Get the First Consul to safety. Location: Corvidae.
Rewards for this path: 500 Ultra Recruit Tokens, 15 8 Hour Speed Ups, 600 Romulan Credits, 374,000 Romulan Points and minus 394,944 Föderation Points.
If you attack the Suliban ships
- Intercept the Suliban ships in Talvath. Location: Talvath.
- Defeat 10 Hostiles of Level 44 or higher.
Rewards for this path: 140 1M Parsteel Tokens, 9 3 Hour Repair Speed Ups, 600 Romulan Credits, 374,000 Romulan Points and minus 394,944 Federation Points.
Both paths include the same ten-hostile quota at level 44 or higher. The defend path ends with a trip to Corvidae, and the attack path starts with a trip to Talvath.
Wo und welcher Warp
You can accept Double-edged Sword at warp 1, but the route through Draomn, Corvidae and Talvath needs warp 100. The game lists a recommended level of 1. The real requirements are that warp range, a Suliban Assassin at about 1.08 million strength and a ship that can clear level 44 hostiles ten times.
The game lists Romulan Traders, Patrols and Enforcers in Draomn (level 41 to 47) and Talvath (level 40 to 46). Corvidae has Romulan Patrols, Enforcers and eighteen Romulan Elite Assassins at level 39 to 45. The hostiles at level 44 and up in these systems count toward the quota.

Tips
Choose the defend path if you want speed ups and recruit tokens. Fifteen 8 Hour Speed Ups add up to 120 hours of build or research time.
Choose the attack path if you need Parsteel. 140 1M Parsteel Tokens is 140 million Parsteel once redeemed.
Do the hostile quota in the system where the path takes you. Draomn and Talvath both list hostiles up to level 46 or 47, so there are targets at level 44 and up in both. The Federation Points loss is the same on both paths. Other missions by level are on the Missionsleitfaden.
