Surveillance is a level 2 mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which you prove your combat readiness to Subcommander Senolus. It needs only warp 1 to start and to complete, and it has one objective: defeat a Rigellian Destroyer. The reward is 90 Parsteel. Finishing it opens up several new Missionen at once, which makes it an important early step even though the payout is small.
Surveillance objectives
The story line reads: prove your combat readiness to Subcommander Senolus. There is one objective and no choice split:
- Defeat a Rigellian Destroyer.
No system is named and no enemy strength is listed. The Rigellian Destroyer is the only target, and warp 1 keeps the fight close to home.
Wo und welcher Warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete. The fight happens close to your station.
The recommended level is 2. At that point your starting ship is usually the only one you have, so it is the one you will use.

What Surveillance unlocks
Surveillance is a branching point. Completing it unlocks four missions:
- The Orion Corvette, a level 1 mission that pays 20 Recruit Tokens.
- Kampftraining 1: Soldat, a level 1 mission that pays 3 Dilithium and 50 Officer XP.
- Intervention, a level 2 mission that pays 100 Parsteel.
- Upgrade Parsteel Generator A to Level 2, a station upgrade mission.
All four need only warp 1, so you can work through them in any order right after this one.
Where it sits in the story
The mission before Surveillance is Mistaken Identity, a level 2 mission that pays 75 Parsteel. Surveillance pays slightly more at 90, and Intervention, one of the missions it unlocks, pays 100.
Tips
Do it right away. The reward is small, but the four missions it opens are where the early game branches into combat training and station upgrades.
If your ship takes damage in the fight, repair at your station before starting the next combat mission.
Other early missions are listed by level on the Missionsleitfaden.
