Mistaken Identity is one of the first story missions in Star Trek Fleet Command. You defend a helpless ship against Nausicaan attackers, then destroy Urkwen’s ship at roughly 143 strength. It has a recommended level of 2 and needs only warp 1. The reward is 75 Parsteel, and it unlocks Überwachung. It is a short introduction to scripted combat.

Mistaken Identity objectives

The story line is to defend a helpless ship against Nausicaan attackers. There are two objectives and no choice split:

  • Rette die Haulers vor den nausicaanischen Piraten.
  • Destroy Urkwen’s ship. Enemy strength is roughly 143.

No system is named for either step, and the mission never needs more than warp 1. Saving the haulers comes first, and Urkwen’s ship is the one fight with a listed strength, which is very low.

Wo und welcher Warp

No pickup system is listed. Mistaken Identity starts and finishes at warp 1, so range is never the problem. With no warp gap between accepting and finishing it, the only thing that can hold the mission up is winning the fights, and both are well within reach of a new captain’s first ship.

The recommended level is 2. Urkwen’s ship at roughly 143 strength is the only fight with a strength given, and a starting ship handles it.

Mistaken Identity rewards

The mission pays 75 Parsteel. Completing it also unlocks the next mission, Surveillance.

How it compares with the previous mission

Mistaken Identity follows Maia in the opening storyline. Current game data:

Mission Ebene Warp Objectives Belohnung
Maia 2 1 Take Geordi to the rendezvous point 60 Parsteel
Mistaken Identity 2 1 Save the haulers from Nausicaan pirates, destroy Urkwen’s ship (about 143) 75 Parsteel

Maia is a single travel step. Mistaken Identity adds the first real fight and pays a little more Parsteel for it.

What the reward buys

The 75 Parsteel is small, but early station costs are small too. Current game data for the first Operations upgrades after this point:

Operations level Kosten Anforderungen
4 125 Parsteel Parsteel Warehouse 3, Parsteel Generator B 2
5 400 Parsteel Parsteel Warehouse 4

So this reward covers more than half of the Operations 4 upgrade on its own.

The bigger value is progression. Mistaken Identity leads into Surveillance, and the opening storyline keeps unlocking new Missionen as you complete them.

Tips

Use your starting combat ship. Urkwen’s ship at roughly 143 strength is weak, so there is no need to upgrade anything before taking the mission.

Repair if the pirates leave your ship damaged before you go after Urkwen. A fully repaired ship makes the second objective easier.

Keep moving through the story. Each early mission unlocks the next, and the rewards grow as the missions get longer. Other missions sorted by level are on the Missionsleitfaden.
