Excess is a Klingon mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you fulfill a contract to wipe out hostiles in Klingon space. It is picked up in Khitomer and has one objective: defeat 10 hostiles of level 21 or higher. It needs warp 17 to start and to complete. The reward is 273,000 Parsteel, 80 Klingonisch Credits, 800 Klingon Points and a Cargo Container. For a single hunting objective, that is a large Parsteel payout.

No system is named for the kills, so any ten hostiles at level 21 or above count. There is no named target and no return trip.

Excess is picked up in Khitomer, and warp 17 covers both accepting and completing it. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but the objective itself sets the bar: your ship needs to beat level 21 hostiles comfortably, ten times over.
The game lists Klingon Traders, Klingon Patrols und Klingon Fighters in Khitomer at level 20 to 26. Everything there from level 21 up counts toward the quota, so you can finish without leaving the pickup system.

Excess pays the most raw Ressourcen of the group. The Noose gives the most Klingon standing.
Tips
Stay in Khitomer and farm the local Klingon hostiles for the quota. Skip anything at level 20, which does not count. The game lists seven Klingon Traders, seven Klingon Patrols and five Klingon Fighters in the system, so there are usually enough targets in range without moving on.
Khitomer is a stop on many other warp 17 missions too, such as Backlash, Versorgungslauf and Scraps, so you can often clear the hostile quota while you are there for something else.
The reputation changes are tiny: 800 Klingon Points against a loss of 589 Romulan and 221 Federation Points. Excess is safe to run whichever faction you favour. Other missions by level are on the Missionsleitfaden.
