Beyond Borders is a Romulan faction mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you help a Romulan scientist test a new warp engine. You pick it up in Nuva, and both the start and the finish need warp 120. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but warp 120 is the real bar. There are no fights; the main cost is a 1M Dilithium donation. The reward is 448,000 Romulan Points, 700 Romulanisch Credits and 170 4★ Uncommon Refined Erze, paid for with large Klingon and Federation reputation losses.
Beyond Borders objectives
Es gibt vier Ziele und keine Verzweigung:
- Test the warp engine. Location: Dohrmas.
- Perform a stress test. Location: Laynso.
- Donate 1M Dilithium to repair the warp coil.
- Return the ship to the drydock. Location: Ballion.
The engine test takes you into Klingonisch space at Dohrmas, and the stress test moves you on to Laynso. The next step asks for 1M Dilithium to repair the warp coil, and it can be paid from anywhere. The last step takes the ship to the drydock in Ballion, and the mission completes there.
No hostile is listed at any point.
Wo und welcher Warp
The pickup system is Nuva, which needs warp 120. Completing the mission also needs warp 120, so any ship that can reach Nuva can reach Dohrmas, Laynso and Ballion.
The recommended level is listed as 1. In practice this is a late-game mission: warp 120 and 1M Dilithium on hand are what you need.

How it compares with similar Romulan missions
Several high-warp Romulan missions share the same shape: a pickup system, a large Romulan reputation reward, and losses with the other two factions. Current game data:
| Mission | Warp | Fights | Romulan Points | Federation Points | Klingon Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jenseits der Grenzen | 120 | None; 1M Dilithium donation | 448,000 | -490,000 | -320,000 |
| Bindungen schmieden | 120 | None; 2.25M Tritanium donation | 775,000 | -1,350,000 | -300,000 |
| Ein Freund in Not | 120 | Two | 775,000 | -1,350,000 | -300,000 |
| Wer's findet, behält's | 110 | Eine | 538,000 | -890,000 | -200,000 |
Beyond Borders pays the least Romulan reputation of the four, but it also costs the least Federation reputation and has no combat.
Tips
Weigh the reputation trade before you accept. You gain 448,000 Romulan Points and lose 490,000 Federation and 320,000 Klingon Points. If you are building toward a Federation or Klingon tier, that is a real setback.
Stock the Dilithium first. The donation is the only step that can hold the mission up once you have the range.
Any ship with warp 120 range will do. With no combat, a non-combat hull can run it and leave your fighters free. Other missions sorted by level are on the Missionsleitfaden.
