Thesis is a level 51 KSG mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with a single research objective: research KSG Shield Mitigation. It needs warp 1 to start and finish, because nothing happens in space. The story has you attempt to pinpoint the purpose of the materials gathered earlier in the chain. The reward is 280 3 Hour Speed Ups and 60,750,000 Tritanium, and completing it unlocks Unstable Cargo. If the research is already done or close, this is a quick one.

The recommended level is 51. The research itself is the real gate, since the mission cannot finish before it.

Thesis is the only research mission in this stretch, and it sits between two travel-heavy steps. Its 60,750,000 Tritanium is close to the 64,800,000 that Beyond the Known paid, which is a lot for a mission you can finish without leaving your station.
Tips
Start the research early. If you can see the KSG chain heading this way, beginning KSG Shield Mitigation before you finish Behind Us means Thesis may complete almost as soon as it unlocks.
The 280 3 Hour Speed Ups can go straight back into the research if it is still running when the mission appears, though the mission only pays out once the research is finished.
Use the waiting time. Because Thesis has no travel, your ships are free while the research runs, and KSG side missions are a good use of them while you wait.
