The Light of the Others is a level 63 Federation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which Azinjen colonists dig up something they think is Progenitor, and you help find out what it really is. It is picked up in Stateside, needs warp 1,100 to start and to complete, and takes place in Faroon. There is no fight, but you fund the survey with 1B Tritanium. The reward is 3,000 Culver Particle, 352,000 Raw Σ-Parsteel and a large Federation reputation gain.
The Light of the Others objectives
There are three objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Pick up the research team in Faroon. Location: Faroon.
- Travel to the archaeological site. Location: Faroon.
- Fund the survey with 1B Tritanium.
Square Leader Ba’sygor tells you a research team has found an ancient site in Faroon that matches descriptions of the Progenitors, and sends Ahvix ahead to get you access. The team cannot get inside. Ahvix muses that archaeology is like studying the future buried in the past.
Maia’s first scans rule out the Progenitors, but they are inconclusive, and Ahvix suggests that 1B Tritanium would let them scan the interior. Inside is a probe at least a thousand years old, unpowered but with its core memory intact. Maia identifies it as a Xindi probe built by the Aquatics. Ahvix sees a chance to invite another possible ally to the Azinjen’s new home, and Maia congratulates her on the find.

Tips
Die Tritanium is the whole cost. Make sure you have 1B spare before arriving at the site, because the mission cannot finish until it is paid.
