Fundamental Differing is a level 63 Federation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which the Azinjen first run into the Star-Riven, a group who want them gone from this reality. It is picked up in Eranias, needs warp 1,100 to start and to complete, and every objective is in Eranias. You stop an attack of about 3.53 billion strength and defeat 10 hostiles. The reward is 87,000 6★ Rohgas, 249,000 Raw Σ-Parsteel and a large Federation reputation gain.
Fundamental Differing objectives
There are four objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Stop the attack on the Azinjen. Location: Eranias. Enemy strength about 3,534,007,028.
- Follow the fleeing Independent vessel. Location: Eranias.
- Defeat 10 Hostiles in the Eranias system. Location: Eranias.
- Bring news of the Star-Riven to the Segment Assembly. Location: Eranias.
You are collecting Ahvix for the Square Leader when an emergency call comes from the Azinjen ship Gho’goed, destroyed before the message is finished by a fleet of unknown ships. Their leader, Reydal, calls his group the Star-Riven, True Independents who have formed to stop reckless outsiders like the Azinjen Segment Assembly from tearing space apart. He also relishes the chance to kill a famous Independent Commander.
He flees, then calls in backup, which is where the ten hostiles come in. During the fight Maia pulls partial fleet Daten from their network: at least seventy ships, organised and funded. Square Leader Ba’sygor fears the Star-Riven want the space-folding propulsion technology the Azinjen are developing, and resolves to act before they strike.

Tips
Because the ten hostiles have to be in Eranias, you cannot pick them off elsewhere. Eranias is where the Star-Riven hostile spawns at level 63, so the system is a natural place to fight.
