Espionage is a Federation faction mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. Starfleet has found a Romulan-controlled stealth drone ship gathering Daten in Alpha Centauri, and you pick up a Vulcan scientist to help deal with it. The mission is picked up in Deneb and needs warp 47 both to start and to finish. The game lists a recommended level of 1. The one fight is the drone ship’s defenses at roughly 1.39 million strength. The reward is 2,147,000 Tritanium, 240 3★ Explorer Parts and Föderation standing.
Espionage objectives

- Travel to the planet Fermo to pick up the Vulcan scientist. Location: Groombridge 34.
- Travel to Alpha Centauri and track the Drone Ship. Location: Alpha Centauri.
- Disable the Drone Ship’s defenses. Location: Alpha Centauri. Enemy strength is roughly 1,385,777.
You collect the Vulcan scientist on Fermo in Groombridge 34, then head to Alpha Centauri to track down the drone ship. Disabling its defenses is the final step, so the mission ends in Alpha Centauri.

The mission is picked up in Deneb. Warp 47 is needed both to start and to complete it.
The game lists a recommended level of 1. For a warp 47 mission with a 1.39 million strength fight, that number is not a useful guide. Plan around the warp and the drone ship instead.

What comes next
Loose Ends continues the drone ship story in Sirius and needs warp 38. It has a choice split with two different fights:

Both Missionen pay 500 Federation Credits and 100,000 Federation Points. Loose Ends takes more Klingon standing, -144,000 against -84,240 here. If you want Tritanium, warning the spies pays more of it than Espionage does, against a weaker enemy; bombarding the units pays recruit tokens instead and has the tougher fight.
Espionage also sits alongside other Federation missions that pay 100,000 Federation Points, such as Fehlzündung, whose Corvallen ship is close in strength to this drone at about 1.37 million.
Tips
Bring a combat ship from the start. The only fight is at the end, in Alpha Centauri, and it is a serious one at nearly 1.4 million strength.
Save the Explorer Parts if you fly an Explorer. 240 3★ parts in one reward is a solid contribution to a tier-up.
Weigh the Klingon penalty. The -84,240 Klingon Points matter if you are building Klingon reputation. Other missions sorted by level are on the Missionsleitfaden.
