Sleeping Giants is a short investigation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, recommended for level 40. After a sensor upgrade, your crew detects a huge anomaly that has appeared on the border between the Romulanisch and Klingon Empires, and you fly out to take a closer look. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 56 to complete, and the reward is 50 Latinum and 2,000,000 Tritanium. There are only two objectives and no fights, so it is a quick run for any ship that can reach Garadius.
Sleeping Giants objectives
There are two objectives, both in the same system, and no choice split:
- Get as close as possible to the anomaly. Location: Garadius.
- Attempt to decode the radio transmissions. Location: Garadius.
At the edge of the anomaly your sensors pick up tachyon radiation and an unknown metallic element. The region inside has changed hands between Romulans and Klingonen many times, and its last known use was as a place of exile for dishonoured Klingons cast out by the High Council. Signals are coming from inside, so the residents survived whatever created the anomaly. Its edge is slowly thinning, and once the transmissions clear, two Klingon words repeat over and over, and your crew reads the message as soon. Whoever is inside is preparing for something.
Wo und welcher Warp
No pickup system is listed, and the mission starts at warp 1. You need warp 56 to complete it, because both objectives are in Garadius. The recommended level is 40.
No hostile is listed at either step, and nothing is donated. You do not need a combat ship.
Sleeping Giants rewards
| Belohnung | Amount |
|---|---|
| Latinum | 50 |
| Tritanium | 2,000,000 |
Other level 40 missions that visit Garadius
| Mission | Recommended level | Warp to complete | Fights |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sleeping Giants | 40 | 56 | Keine |
| Einer der Unseren | 40 | 56 | USS Chaloner |
| Old Acquaintances (40+) | 40 | 61 | Only on one path |
If you are already heading to Garadius for one of the others, Sleeping Giants fits into the same trip at the same warp.
Tips
Send any ship with the range. Both objectives are travel and scanning, so a mining ship or a spare explorer works as well as a battleship.
Do both steps in one visit. The two objectives sit in the same system, so there is no reason to fly home between them.
The reward is small next to what level 40 players usually earn from missions, so this is one to run when you are passing through anyway. For more missions sorted by level, see the mission guide.
