Change of Heart is a late story mission in Star Trek Fleet Command that starts with a meeting with Ranelia on Romulus and turns into a search for Toryn. You look for Toryn in Hannlaw, clear eight hostiles of level 42 or higher, follow a signal to Laynso and bring a transponder home. It can be accepted at warp 1 and needs warp 100 to complete. The game lists a recommended level of 1, but the level 42 kills set the real bar. The reward is 170 1M Parsteel Tokens, and finishing it unlocks Old Friends.
Change of Heart objectives
The story line opens with a meeting with Ranelia on Romulus. There are five objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Meet with Ranelia on Romulus. Location: Romulus.
- Search for Toryn in Hannlaw. Location: Hannlaw.
- Defeat 8 hostiles of level 42 or higher.
- Follow the signal. Location: Laynso.
- Return the transponder to your Station.
There is no named enemy. The kill objective does not name a system, and the rest of the mission is travel from Romulus to Hannlaw to Laynso and home.
Wo und welcher Warp
The mission can be accepted at warp 1, but Romulus, Hannlaw and Laynso need warp 100 to complete it. The recommended level is listed as 1. A ship with warp 100 that can beat eight level 42 hostiles is what the mission actually needs.
Change of Heart rewards
The only reward is 170 1M Parsteel Tokens. Completing the mission also unlocks the next mission, Alte Freunde. There are no Fraktionsruf changes.
Where to find level 42 hostiles
Both Hannlaw and Laynso, the two systems you pass through after Romulus, have hostiles at the right level in current hostile data:

The kill objective comes right after the Hannlaw search, so the Independent Traders there are the obvious targets.

Change of Heart is the only one of the three with no donation and no named fight, but it needs 20 more warp than the two before it.

Do the eight kills in Hannlaw. You are already there for the search step.
Use the Parsteel tokens on the late station upgrades that cost billions of Parsteel.
