Critical Mass is a Klingon mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you escort Leader Nalrex to an emergency meeting of the Klingon High Council on No’Mat, then choose how to support the Klingon war effort. There are three ways to help: donate 2 million Tritanium, assassinate a Tal Shiar operative, or thin out the Romulan mercenaries in Unroth. The mission is picked up in Quv Qeb at warp 38 and needs warp 48 to complete. Every path pays an Encryption Key and an Energy Manifold, plus a reward that depends on your choice.
Critical Mass objectives
The first two objectives are shared:
- Take Nalrex to the meeting on No’Mat. Location: No’Mat.
- Decide how to support the Klingon war effort.
If you provide 2M Tritanium
- Give 2M Tritanium to the Klingonen.
Rewards for this path: 18 3★ Seltene Refined Crystal, 1 Encryption Key and 1 Energy Manifold.
If you volunteer to assassinate the Tal Shiar operative
- Force the Tal Shiar operative to surface on Doq’mln. Location: Mempa.
- Eliminate operative Vurelsa. Location: Mempa. Enemy strength is roughly 937,932.
Rewards for this path: 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens, 1 Encryption Key and 1 Energy Manifold.
If you promise to trim the Romulan mercenary numbers
- Travel to the Unroth system. Location: Unroth.
- Destroy 10 Kriosian Rebels in the Unroth system. Location: Unroth.
Rewards for this path: 4,746,000 Tritanium, 1 Encryption Key and 1 Energy Manifold.
Wo und welcher Warp
Critical Mass is offered in Quv Qeb, and you need warp 38 to accept it. Warp 48 covers the rest of the mission on any path. The game lists a recommended level of 1. What you actually need depends on your choice: 2 million spare Tritanium, a ship that can beat Vurelsa at about 938,000 strength, or one that can clear ten Kriosian Rebels.
The game lists Klingon Patrols, Fighters and War Armies in Quv Qeb, No’Mat and Mempa at level 33 to 41, with Corvallen Rebels and Kriosian Outlaws in No’Mat as well. Unroth has Romulanisch Patrols, Trained Fighters and a Romulan Scout at level 29 to 35.
Critical Mass rewards
| Belohnung | Give Tritanium | Assassinate the operative | Trim the mercenaries |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main reward | 18 3★ Rare Refined Kristall | 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens | 4,746,000 Tritanium |
| Encryption Key | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| Energy Manifold | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Critical Mass is a standalone mission and does not unlock a follow-up.
Tips
The mercenary path is the best value if you can fight. It pays 4,746,000 Tritanium, more than double the 2 million you would donate on the Tritanium path.
The Tritanium path is the only one with no combat at all. Take it if you need 3★ Rare Refined Crystal and have Tritanium to spare.
The assassination path is the choice for officer recruitment, with 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens for a single fight in Mempa.
Unroth also features in Umgruppieren, where the Gorn fall back to Unroth ahead of Romulan troops. Other missions by level are on the Missionsleitfaden.
