The Klingon Hunter is a level 39–51 Klingon hostile that spawns only as an Interceptor in Klingon space, at warp ranges from 64 to 160. It drops 4★ Broken Interceptor Parts from level 40 up, and each kill raises your Federation and Romulanisch reputation while lowering your Klingon reputation. Bring an Explorer with a hostile-damage crew and it goes down fast.

How to beat the Klingon Hunter

The Klingon Hunter only appears as an Interceptor, so bring an Explorer. Every spawn from level 39 to 51 uses the same hull, so there is nothing to swap between levels; pick the level your ship handles comfortably and keep hunting.

It has no ship ability and no vulnerability, which makes it one of the more straightforward grind targets in this level band. The fight comes down to raw stats: out-damage it with the class advantage and a solid crew.

For crew, run a captain that boosts weapon damage against hostiles and fill the remaining seats with Offiziere that add damage or survivability. By level 39 and up you should be past the cadet crews that carry early players. Check the officer tier list for current picks; crews shift with the meta, so treat any named combination as a starting point.

Where to find the Klingon Hunter

Klingon Hunters roam Klingon space across a wide level spread. The level 39–45 versions sit at warp 64–75 in systems like Dok’Vos, Hurgh’maQ, and Mehg Torr, while the level 46–51 versions push into deeper territory at warp 95–160. Match the level you hunt to your warp range; the table below lists every spawn.

Rewards and what it drops

The main payout is faction reputation. Each kill adds Federation points (654 to 3,920) and Romulan points (327 to 1,960) but removes up to 7,350 Klingon points, so leave these ships alone if you are building Klingon standing. From level 40 up they also drop 4★ Broken Interceptor Parts, from 108 per kill at the low end to 1,418 at level 51. Ship XP scales from 1,750 at level 39 to 3,357 at level 51.

Ablegen What it is
4★ Gebrochene Interzeptorteile Ship material for interceptor-line construction and upgrades (drops from level 40 up)
Federation Points Reputation gain with the Föderationsfraktion
Romulan Points Reputation gain with the Romulan faction
Klingon Points A reputation loss: each kill lowers your Klingon standing

Klingon Hunter firing pattern

The Hunter mounts one energy weapon that fires every round and a pair of kinetic weapons that fire every other round. The kinetic pair delivers most of the damage when it lands, so the rounds where all three weapons fire together are the ones that sting. With the Explorer class advantage the whole exchange stays short at an appropriate level.

Weapon type Count Damage per shot Fires Crit
Energie 1 61,718–75,432 Every round 10% (1.8x)
Kinetic 2 148,122–181,039 Every other round 10% (1.8x)

The Klingons in Star Trek

Die Klingonen are Star Trek’s most famous warrior culture: an empire where honor in battle outranks everything else, and where a family’s standing rises and falls on the deeds of its warriors. They began as the Federation’s chief rivals in The Original Series, fought a devastating war with it in Discovery’s first season, and became uneasy allies by The Next Generation era after the Khitomer Accords. Their raiders and patrol ships, from the classic Bird-of-Prey on up, are built for aggression, which is exactly the role the Hunter plays in Fleet Command’s Klingon space.

Is the Klingon Hunter worth grinding?

Yes, if you are pushing the Federation or Romulan reputation track: it is a reliable, ability-free faction-point target across a wide level spread, with 4★ interceptor parts as a bonus from level 40 up. The one warning is the Klingon reputation cost, which adds up fast over a long session. Match your warp range to a level you can kill without repairs, bring an Explorer, and grind the highest band your ship clears comfortably.
