Interference Play is a level 64 Romulan mission in Star Trek Fleet Command in which the Reman Initiative stages a distraction on New Vulcan so a Romulan attack elsewhere can succeed. It is picked up in izar and needs warp 1,200 to start and to complete, with everything in New Vulcan. You fight two Starfleet ships, one about 4.19 billion strength and one only about 432 million, then keep the Enterprise busy. The reward is a 12 Hr Peace Shield, 252,000 Raw Σ-Parsteel and a large Romulan reputation gain.
Interference Play objectives
There are four objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Create a diversion in New Vulcan. Location: New Vulcan.
- Defeat the USS Kierkegaard. Location: New Vulcan. Enemy strength about 4,194,200,695.
- Defeat the USS Goethe. Location: New Vulcan. Enemy strength about 431,979,699.
- Distract the USS Enterprise. Location: New Vulcan.
Senator Tomalak brings the Initiative its first big assignment. The Romulan Military is about to strike in Föderation space and needs Starfleet’s attention elsewhere. The Enterprise is due at New Vulcan’s new Wissenschaft campus, so the plan is to hit the support fleet there and give the Enterprise a reason to follow you.
Fewer Starfleet ships are present than expected, so Yurx wants the attack loud. Julian Bashir, medical liaison to New Vulcan, orders you out and calls for help. When the Enterprise arrives, Picard calls New Vulcan a sanctuary for a grieving people and warns you off. Tomalak asks you to keep the Enterprise occupied a little longer, then lets you slip away as Riker’s torpedo locks come too late.

Fifteen Romulan missions at levels 62 to 64, picked up in Lanasta, ilargia, Qudorin, Grida-7 and izar, follow the Reman Initiative. All pay Romulan Credits and Romulan Points and cost Klingon and Federation Points. Their other rewards:

Interference Play is the only one of the fifteen that pays a Peace Shield.
Tips
The Kierkegaard is the only serious fight. The Goethe is weak, and the Enterprise step is a distraction rather than a battle.
