Hostiles are the enemy ships and stations you attack for rewards in Star Trek Fleet Command. Grinding them is how you collect ship parts, faction reputation, event materials, and armada credits at every stage of the game. This guide explains how hostile combat works, then points you to a hub for each faction and for solo armadas, so you can find the right target for your level and your fleet.
How hostile grinding works
Hostile combat runs on a rock-paper-scissors between hull types. Interceptors beat Schlachtschiffe, Battleships beat Explorers, and Explorers beat Interceptors, while Survey ships have no combat role and are hit with whatever warship you have. Most hostiles fly a single hull, so you bring the class that counters it. Some appear as several hulls, which lets you attack the version your strongest ship already beats.
What a hostile drops depends on its faction and type. Standard faction ships pay Broken ship parts and shift your reputation with the three main powers, arc hostiles pay event materials, and armada targets pay armada credits. For crews, you want a captain that raises damage against hostiles plus Offiziere that add damage or survivability. Because the best picks change with the meta and your roster, the officer tier list keeps current recommendations for each role.
Hostiles by faction
Each faction has its own hub with a full table of targets, sorted by level, showing hull, warp, and key drops. Start with the faction whose space you are grinding:
- Klingon hostiles cover level 20 to 80 and lower your Klingon standing while raising Federation and Romulan.
- Federation hostiles run the same spread and flip that trade, raising Klingon and Romulan instead.
- Mirror Universe hostiles are arc ships that drop Trellium rather than moving faction reputation.
- Borg hostiles range from assimilated freighters to the endgame Conqueror Borg, which can only be fought with a Borg Sphere.
A Romulanisch hostiles hub is on the way and will be added here as those pages publish.
Solo armadas and armada targets
Some targets are armadas rather than normal ship kills. Solo armadas can be beaten with a single armada instead of a full alliance group, and they pay armada credits and faction rewards. The solo armadas hub lists every solo target with its level and reward, with deeper guides for Borg solo armadas und Swarm armadas. If you want the group version, formation armadas need a full alliance team.
Other hostiles across the galaxy
Beyond the main factions, the galaxy is full of smaller groups. In neutral space you meet species like the Suliban, Nausicaan, Orion, and Corvallen, which give a straightforward grind without a reputation cost. Deeper regions add the Dominion, Cardassian, Breen, and Swarm, along with event enemies like the Eclipse. These appear in the faction and armada tables where they have their own guides, and more get pages as the wiki fills in. When you are hunting a specific target, the faction hubs above are the fastest way to find its level, warp, and drops.
