Crosshairs is an early single mission that never asks you to leave your own space. The whole thing is a ship job: upgrade the Realta’s components, then push the ship to Tier 3. It sits at recommended level 3, opens at warp 1 and closes at warp 1, and pays out 3 Daten der nächsten Generation shards. It also opens the next part of the chain, so it is worth clearing early rather than letting it sit.
Crosshairs objectives
There is one objective, and it is the whole mission:
- Upgrade the Realta to Tier 3.
No choice split appears here, so there is one path through and one set of rewards. Nothing branches, and no dialogue option changes what you get at the end.
The story framing spells out the order of work: bring the Realta’s components up first, and the tier follows from that. Tiering a ship is not a single button. Each component on the hull has its own level, and the ship only moves up a tier once the components behind that tier are done. So the objective reads as one line but resolves as a short queue of upgrades on the same ship.
Because the target is the Realta specifically, this is not a mission you can finish with a different hull. If the Realta is parked or being used elsewhere, bring it back before you start feeding it upgrades.
Wo und welcher Warp
Crosshairs needs warp 1 to pick up and warp 1 to complete, which is the lowest the game asks for. There is no travel objective and no named system to fly to, so in practice you can run the mission from your station without moving at all.
The recommended level is 3. That lines up with where the mission appears in the early game, and it means the upgrade costs are small compared with anything you will be paying later. Nothing about this mission gates on warp research or on how far your ship can jump.
The one real gate is Ressourcen. The mission clears when the Realta hits Tier 3, so the pace is set by how quickly you can cover the component upgrades rather than by travel or combat.
Crosshairs rewards
Completing Crosshairs pays 3 Nächste Generation Data shards. Officer shards stack toward recruiting and promoting that officer, so a small count here is progress toward a longer goal rather than something you use the same day.
Finishing the mission also unlocks the next part of the chain, which is the practical reason to do it on schedule instead of leaving it open in your log.
Tips
Read the objective as component work, not as a single tier-up. Open the Realta, look at which components are still short of what Tier 3 needs, and clear those first. The tier flips on its own once the requirements are met.
Run the upgrades while something else is going. Component upgrades take build time, so start one, send a ship out to mine or grind, and come back. Standing at the Werft watching a timer is the slowest way to finish this.
Keep the Realta available. This mission names one ship, and any plan that has the Realta busy for a long stretch delays the mission with it.
If you are working through this arc in order, expect the difficulty to jump after this one. Crosshairs is a maintenance step between story beats, and clearing it cheaply while your costs are still low is the point.
