One of Us is a faction mission in Star Trek Fleet Command with one objective: acquire a Rank V Commendation from any Faction Store. There is no travel, no fight and no donation, and it runs at warp 1 from start to finish. The game lists a recommended level of 1, so your faction progress is the real requirement. The reward is 5,000,000 Parsteel and 150 Premium Recruit Tokens, and completing it unlocks Homeworlds.
One of Us objectives
The story line asks you to acquire a Commendation Rank V from any Faction Store. There is one objective and no choice split:

Any faction’s store counts, so you can use whichever faction you have built up the most. The mission completes when the Rank V Commendation is in hand.
Wo und welcher Warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. There is nowhere to fly; the work happens in the faction store.
The recommended level is listed as 1. Getting the Rank V Commendation itself is the practical requirement.

All three pay the same 5,000,000 Parsteel. The Rank III and Rank IV missions add 800 Ultra Recruit Tokens, while One of Us pays 150 Premium Recruit Tokens instead.

One of Us comes after Ewige Bewegung and before Heimatwelten. Current game data:

That puts One of Us right after the Operations 36 upgrade, between a station mission and a hostile hunt. Homeworlds lets you pick the Federation, Romulans or Klingons for the bounty, and the Romulanisch path also adds a Relocation Token.
The three missions step up through Commendation ranks III, IV and V. Bound Together asks you to earn its Rank IV Commendation with any faction, while One of Us names the Faction Store as the place to acquire the Rank V.
Tips
Pick the faction you are furthest along with. Any Faction Store counts, so there is no reason to split effort across several factions for this mission.
Line up Homeworlds straight after. It needs warp 40 to complete and 15 hostiles of level 37 or higher, so have a combat ship ready once the Commendation is done.
