A Brighter Future is a Federation storyline mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you work with the USS Mayflower to test its new engines. The game lists a recommended level of 1, it starts at warp 1 and needs warp 17 to complete, and the test flight runs Lorillia, Draken and Khitomer. A Klingonisch Hunter at about 55,000 strength interrupts it. The reward is 325,000 Parsteel, 14 15 Minute Repair Speed Ups and Federation reputation, and it unlocks Recreations.
A Brighter Future objectives
Five objectives, no choice split:
- Treffen mit dem USS Mayflower in Lorillia. Location: Lorillia.
- Travel to Draken. Location: Draken.
- Travel to Khitomer. Location: Khitomer.
- Defeat the Klingon Hunter. Location: Khitomer (enemy strength about 55,452).
- Return to your Station for repairs.
You meet the Mayflower at Lorillia and fly its test route to Draken and then Khitomer. A Klingon Hunter attacks at Khitomer, and after the fight you head home for repairs.

You can accept it at warp 1. Warp 17 is needed to complete it.
The recommended level is 1. The Klingon Hunter is the only fight, and it is the figure to check your ship against.
The route is Lorillia, Draken, Khitomer, then home. Each system is visited once.

The Mayflower storyline also includes Brennende Flügel, where you gather engineering experts to work on the ship.
Tips
The first three steps are travel, so the only preparation is for the Hunter at Khitomer. Arrive with your ship repaired.
The 14 repair speed-ups add up to three and a half hours of repair time, which suits a mission whose last step is heading home for repairs.
Draken is a Romulanisch system, so the test route takes the Mayflower across the border before the fight at Khitomer. The reputation cost is small, under 900 Klingon Points.
