Through the Valley is a Borg storyline mission in Star Trek Fleet Command where you show the Romulans the true threat of the Borg. It starts at warp 1 and needs warp 22 to complete, running from Tejat zu Metra Beta and ending with a retreat to Vulkan. You clear 12 hostiles and defeat a Borg Probe. The reward is 250 Latinum, 300 Ultra Recruit Tokens and 150 Premium Recruit Tokens, which makes it a strong mission for recruiting.
Through the Valley objectives
There are five objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Get the Romulans’ attention. Location: Tejat.
- Lead the Romulans to Metra Beta. Location: Metra Beta.
- Defeat 12 hostiles of level 27 or higher.
- Defeat the Borg Probe. Location: Metra Beta. Enemy strength is about 293,839.
- Retreat to Vulcan. Location: Vulcan.
The plan is to draw Romulanisch attention in Tejat and bring them to Metra Beta so they see the Borg for themselves. Before the Borg Probe appears you need 12 kills against hostiles of level 27 or higher, with no system set for them. The probe is the one named fight, and once it is down you pull back to Vulcan.

You can pick up Through the Valley at warp 1, but it needs warp 22 to finish. The route runs through three systems: Tejat, Metra Beta and Vulcan.
The game lists a recommended level of 1. Treat that as a placeholder. The hostiles must be level 27 or higher, the Borg Probe is about 293,839 strength and the trip goes out to warp 22, so plan for a ship that can handle all three.

Through the Valley asks for more fighting, with a probe almost three times as strong as the Romulan survivor, but it has no donation and pays far better.
Tips
Handle the 12 hostiles before you go looking for the probe. They must be level 27 or higher, and since no system is named you can take them wherever you find a good group.
Repair before the Borg Probe. At about 293,839 strength it is the hardest part of the mission, and it comes right after the hostile count.
The 450 Recruit Tokens across the two types are the main draw, with 250 Latinum on top.
