Delayed Gratification

Delayed Gratification is a five-part mission chain in which you hunt Khan and his Augment loyalists for Section 31’s Agent Holloway after they escape with Baelosian captives. You hire a team of Independents, lose some of them to Khans Mannschaft, finally disable his ship at Rigel, and then have to choose whom to save. Parts 1 to 3 are recommended for level 51 and Parts 4 and 5 for level 52. You pick the chain up in Draumen at warp 185, and the parts need warp 185 to 230 to complete. Every part pays 800 Föderation Credits and Federation Points with a negative Klingon Points value, and the finale adds a Section 31 Datapad.

Tips for completing Delayed Gratification

All the fights are light for level 51 or 52. Every named enemy is listed at between about 15.2 million and 17.9 million strength, and Part 1 runs three Augment fights back to back in Valance.

Part 2 is where the costs are: 4B Parsteel for Jarlath and 10M Dilithium for Traeger. Part 3 adds a 15-hostile sweep that lists no system.

The Part 5 choice is a story decision only. The objectives are the same length and the rewards identical, so pick the group you would rather rescue.

In total the chain pays 5,850,000 Federation Points and 4,000 Federation Credits, and carries -10,827,000 Klingon Points.

Are the Delayed Gratification rewards worth it?

For a Federation-aligned player at level 51, yes. You get 112.5 million Dilithium, 1,900 3 Hour Speed Ups, 240 repair speed ups, 5.85 million Federation Points and a Section 31 Datapad for easy fights, with the 4B Parsteel hiring fee as the main expense. For other missions at this level, see the STFC mission guide.
