Computer Core is a short starter mission in Star Trek Fleet Command. You examine the wreckage of a Klingonisch scout ship and stow the debris at your station. There is no fight, it needs only warp 1 to start and complete, and the game lists a recommended level of 1. The reward is 200 Parsteel, and finishing it unlocks the next mission, Conflict. For a two-step errand at the very start of the game, it pays more Parsteel than most of its neighbors.
Computer Core objectives
The story line asks you to examine the wreckage of a Klingon scout ship. There are two objectives in a fixed order and no choice split:
- Examine the Klingon wreckage.
- Stow the debris at the Station.
No system is named for either step, no hostile is listed and nothing is donated. The mission closes once the debris is back at your station.
Wo und welcher Warp
Warp 1 to start and warp 1 to complete, with no pickup system. Everything sits within warp 1, so the ship you start the game with can handle it.
The recommended level is 1, and for once that is an accurate guide: there is nothing here that a brand new account cannot do.
Computer Core rewards
The only reward is 200 Parsteel. Completing the mission also unlocks the next mission in the chain, Conflict.
How it compares with other starter missions
Computer Core belongs to the handful of warp 1 Missionen that introduce the game. Current game Daten lists these nearby ones:
| Mission | Recommended level | What you do | Belohnungen |
|---|---|---|---|
| Computer-Kern | 1 | Examine Klingon wreckage and bring the debris home | 200 Parsteel |
| Distress Call | 1 | Complete a combat simulation, then destroy a Cardassian ship | 10 Latinum, 100 Parsteel |
| Senden einer Nachricht | 1 | Scan for and destroy a Nausicaan Raider | 60 Parsteel |
| Maia | 2 | Take Geordi to the rendezvous point | 60 Parsteel |
| Trübe Sicht | 2 | finden. Mudd before he can duplicate Maia’s codebase | 30 Parsteel, 1 × 5 Minute Speed Up, 25 Ship XP |
| Kleiner Gefallen | 2 | Rescue a Rigellian captain who crash landed his freighter | 3 Nächste Generation Crusher shards, 50 Officer XP |
Among these, Computer Core pays the most Parsteel, and it involves no combat. Distress Call pays half as much Parsteel but adds 10 Latinum.
What to do with 200 Parsteel
At this stage of the game Parsteel is the main building resource. Current building data puts the Operations level 2 upgrade at 50 Parsteel and level 3 at 75, so this one reward covers both with Parsteel to spare. It also covers the 200 Parsteel cost of R&D Department level 2 once that building is unlocked.
Tips
Send whichever ship is free. There is no fight, so a survey ship or your starting ship will do.
Put the Parsteel straight into your next building upgrade rather than holding it.
Chain it with the other starter missions in the table above to get your station moving quickly. More missions are listed on the Missionsleitfaden.
