Captain’s Choice is a level 66 Federation mission in Star Trek Fleet Command, picked up in Persephone. The star in Endron Beta is about to go supernova, and Captain Hughes of the USS Wayans wants to rescue the pre-warp people of Xosul, against the Prime Directive and the orders of Captain Flanagan of the USS Deveraux. You choose whether to help. It needs warp 1300 to start and to complete, has one fight on either path, and pays very different rewards depending on your choice.
Captain’s Choice objectives
One shared step comes before the split:
- Investigate the collapsing star. Location: Endron Beta.
- Help Captain Hughes violate the Prime Directive? (choice split)
The supernova would flood the system with theta radiation. Flanagan has ordered every ship to stay away from Xosul because its people are not warp-capable, and the fleet is stalled while he and Hughes argue.
Help Captain Hughes
- Distract the USS Deveraux. Location: Endron Beta.
- Evacuate Xosul. Location: Endron Beta.
- Escort the evacuees to Persephone. Location: Persephone.

Stop Captain Hughes
- Defend yourself from the USS Wayans. Location: Endron Beta.
- Tow the USS Wayans back to Persephone. Location: Persephone.
Rewards: 499,000 Raw Σ-Tritanium, 6,345,000,000 Tritanium, 3,700 Föderation Credits, 167,000,000 Federation Points, -396,792,000 Klingon Points, -88,176,000 Romulan Points.
Help Hughes and you keep the Deveraux busy while the Wayans reaches Xosul; that fight is listed at about 7.5 billion strength. You then carry the last evacuees to a Federation outpost, and Hughes accepts he will likely face a court martial. Refuse and Hughes heads for Xosul anyway, so Flanagan asks you to disable the Wayans, also at about 7.5 billion, and tow it back to Persephone.

The mission is picked up in Persephone, the choice happens in Endron Beta, and both paths end back in Persephone. Both the start and the finish need warp 1300, and the recommended level is 66.

Tips
The fights on both paths are listed at about 7.5 billion strength, so pick purely by reward. Stopping Hughes pays over 6.3 billion Tritanium and Σ-Tritanium; helping him pays Dilithium and Σ-Parsteel.
Helping Hughes has one more travel step, escorting the evacuees, but no extra fight.
