Blood & Cosmic Dust

Blood & Cosmic Dust is a ten-part chain about a Xindi civil war, a Sovereign-class vessel implicated in an attack, and a Mirror Archer who wants a Xindi superweapon. Nine parts are recommended for level 34 and Part 9 is listed at level 1. The chain starts at Lorillia, and warp to complete goes from 13 up to 50, with half the parts at warp 50. The officer rewards are Hoshi Sato shards in Parts 1 and 7, Trip Tucker shards in Part 8 and Jonathan Archer shards in Part 10. The Parsteel and Latinum payouts are large, and so are the donations.

Tips for completing Blood & Cosmic Dust

Check your warp before starting. Parts 1, 2, 5, 8, 9 and 10 all need warp 50, while Part 4 needs only 13. Part 9 is listed at recommended level 1, but it still needs warp 50 and a 4 million Tritanium donation, so treat it like the parts around it.

The donations are heavy: 4 million Tritanium in Part 5, 2,000 Raw 3★ Ore in Part 6, 4 million Tritanium in Part 9 and 875,000 Dilithium in Part 10. The Part 3 and Part 8 choices add 900,000 and 800,000 Dilithium if you take the paying option.

The ship fights range from about 532,000 to 673,000 enemy strength. The Xindi Captain in Parts 7 and 10 is about 653,000, and Mirror Archer’s vessel in Part 10 is the strongest at about 673,000.

Hostile quotas grow over the chain: 12 in Part 2, 8 in Part 5, 10 in Part 8 and 18 of level 34 or higher in Part 10.

Are the Blood & Cosmic Dust rewards worth it?

Für Enterprise NX-01 collectors, yes. You get Hoshi Sato, Trip Tucker and Jonathan Archer shards, about 44.6 million Parsteel, 9,300 Latinum or more, 5 million Tritanium and over 2 million Dilithium. The cost is steep: roughly 8 million Tritanium and 875,000 Dilithium in fixed donations, plus warp 50 on most parts. For more chains at this level, see the STFC mission guide.
