Containment Protocol

Containment Protocol is the showdown with the Swarm at the end of the Jaylah storyline in Star Trek Fleet Command. It is listed at recommended level 1, starts at warp 1 and needs warp 13 to complete. You lead the Independent fleet to Altamid, gather and donate 600 Frequency Modulators, then defeat Zenith’s Invader at roughly 65,722 strength. The reward is 5 Jaylah shards plus recruit tokens and Swarm Biominerals, more than double the Jaylah shards from The Source, where the storyline starts.

Containment Protocol objectives

There are four objectives and no choice split:

  • Face the Swarm onslaught at Altamid. Location: Altamid.
  • Bring 600 Frequency Modulators to your Station.
  • Donate 600 Frequency Modulators.
  • Defeat Zenith’s Invader. Location: Altamid. Enemy strength is roughly 65,722.

The mission text states that Frequency Modulators are acquired by defeating Swarm hostiles. That makes the middle of the mission a farming step: you need 600 of them back at your station before you can donate them, and only then does Zenith’s Invader become the target.

The route runs Altamid, then your station, then Altamid again. The opening and the final fight are both in Altamid, with the modulator run in between.

Where and what warp

Containment Protocol has no pickup system in the data and opens at warp 1. Completing it takes warp 13, and Altamid is the only named system. The recommended level is listed as 1, but a 65,722-strength boss and 600 modulators from Swarm hostiles make it harder than that number suggests.

Containment Protocol rewards

Reward Amount
Jaylah shards 5
Ultra Recruit Token 150
Premium Recruit Token 150
Swarm Biominerals 100

There is no unlock line in the data, so Containment Protocol closes this storyline. The mission before it is Counter Swarm.

Containment Protocol and The Source compared

The Jaylah storyline begins with The Source, and the two ends of the chain show how much the demands grow.

Mission Warp to complete Main challenge Jaylah shards Other rewards
The Source 13 Two Orion fights near 11,000 strength 2 12,000 Parsteel, 4 1 Hour Speed Up
Containment Protocol 13 600 Frequency Modulators, then Zenith’s Invader at about 65,722 5 150 Ultra Recruit Token, 150 Premium Recruit Token, 100 Swarm Biominerals

Both finish at warp 13, so the range does not change across the storyline. What changes is the boss strength, roughly six times higher, and the modulator grind that stands between you and the final fight.

Tips

Plan for the modulator grind. The mission tells you Frequency Modulators come from defeating Swarm hostiles, and 600 is a large number, so set aside time for Swarm fights before you expect to reach Zenith’s Invader.

Bring the modulators home before you try to donate. The objectives separate bringing them to your station from donating them, so the modulators need to be delivered to your station first.

Save a proper combat ship for Zenith’s Invader. At about 65,722 it is far stronger than anything in The Source.

The Swarm Biominerals and recruit tokens are welcome, but the 5 Jaylah shards are the reason to finish this one. More Swarm content is on the Swarm missions page, and every mission by level is on the mission guide.
