Combat Training 60: Rookie

Combat Training 60: Rookie is the first step of the level 60 combat training set in Star Trek Fleet Command. You defeat three level 60 hostiles, with no system named and no boss. It needs only warp 1 to start and finish, and unlike most combat training steps, the game lists a real recommended level here: 60. The reward is 1,800,000,000 Dilithium and 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens, and completing it unlocks Combat Training 60: Soldier.

Combat Training 60: Rookie objectives

There is one objective and no choice split:

  • Defeat 3 Level 60 hostiles.

The series description is the same at every level: test your skills in battle against escalating difficulties of hostile enemies. At level 60 the Rookie step is still a short kill count, but the targets are level 60 hostiles, so only a top-end ship can clear it comfortably.

Where and what warp

Warp 1 to start, warp 1 to complete, no pickup system. The mission itself does not send you anywhere. The recommended level of 60 matches the hostiles you need to beat.

Combat Training 60: Rookie rewards

Reward Amount
Dilithium 1,800,000,000
Ultra Recruit Tokens 2,400

Completing the mission also unlocks the next step, Combat Training 60: Soldier.

How the late combat training steps compare

From level 53 onward every step with current data pays 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens, so Dilithium is what changes. Current game data:

Mission Objective Dilithium
Combat Training 57: Rookie 3 level 57 hostiles 1,060,000,000
Combat Training 59: Rookie 3 level 59 hostiles 1,500,000,000
Combat Training 59: Soldier 5 level 59 hostiles 3,000,000,000
Combat Training 59: Veteran Hostile captain, about 41.7M 4,500,000,000
Combat Training 60: Rookie 3 level 60 hostiles 1,800,000,000
Combat Training 60: Soldier 5 level 60 hostiles 3,600,000,000

Within each level the pattern holds: the Soldier step pays double the Rookie step, and the Veteran step pays three times as much. At level 60 the Rookie pays 20% more than at level 59, and the Soldier step follows the same rise.

What changes at the top of the series

The late steps work differently from the rest of the series. Up to level 50, combat training steps list a recommended level of 1, and many pay officer shards alongside Dilithium; Combat Training 50: Rookie, for example, pays 36,600,000 Dilithium and eight Gorkon shards. From level 53 the recommended level matches the training level, the shards disappear, and every step pays 2,400 Ultra Recruit Tokens with Dilithium in the hundreds of millions or billions. Level 60 Rookie pays about 49 times what level 50 Rookie did.

Tips

Run the Rookie and Soldier steps together. Both want level 60 kills, three for this step and five for the next, so you can stay on the same hunting ground.

Keep your strongest ship ready for the Veteran steps. At level 59 the Veteran captain sat at about 41.7 million strength, a single fixed fight worth planning for separately from the kill counts.
